A national park is a nature park, natural park in use for conservation (ethic), conservation purposes, created and protected by national governments. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Alvand Protected Area
Alvand is a subrange of the Zagros Mountains in western Iran located south of the city of Hamadan in Hamadan Province. Its summit has an elevation of . The main body of the Alvand range extends for about 50 km from east to west, while their maximum north-south width is about 30 km. Formed as part of the Zagros orogeny in the late Jurassic and early Cretaceous, the mountains rise sharply from the surrounding plains and are scored by many deep valleys. The mountains are mostly granite and diorite, which are types of intrusive rock. The area was once covered by a light oak forest, but extensive deforestation in historical times has reduced this to only a small area, mostly in the valleys. Today, the higher altitudes have a sparse cover of grass, while grass cover grows more thickly around springs and streams. Sorkheh Hesar National Park
Sorkheh Hesar National Park ( fa, پارک ملی سرخه‌حصار) lies with an area of and stands at an altitude of above sea-level, near by Ray - Tehran 20th District, Tehran, Iran. The whole of this forest park, except the northeastern part has been managed by Iran Environmental Protection Organization since 1980. The major portion of this territory is a base for migrating birds during winter. Environment The area has semi-arid climate and the day-night temperature difference is very high. Naybandan Wildlife Refuge
Nayband Wildlife Sanctuary, Naybandan Wildlife Refuge or Nayband National Park is a National Park in Iran. It is situated in South Khorasan Province at south of Tabas, near the provincial city of Birjand, and Neyshabur and Mashhad from the Razavi Khorasan Province. With a size of , it is the largest reserve in Iran. It has recently been given legal protection, and was known to have held the highest population of Asiatic cheetahs. Since 2006, it was estimated that at least 15 cheetahs live there. Lar National Park
Lar National Park (Persian پارک ملی لار ''park-e melli-e lar'') is a protected area in Mazandaran Province in northern Iran. Geography The park is in the Central Alborz mountain range, at the foot of Mount Damavand. It has been a national park since 1976 and a protected area since 1982 by the Iran Department of Environment. Since 1991 hunting has been prohibited. The Lar Dam and reservoir is located within the park. It is a major tourist attraction, being only northeast of Tehran. The park is accessible by car via Haraz road (Road 77).
