It was written by Federico Consolo Federico Consolo (April 4, 1841 – December 14, 1906) was an Italian violinist and composer. Background and earlier life Federico Consolo was born to Benjamin Consolo at Ancona in 1841. After studying the violin with Ferdinando Giorgetti in F ..., an Italian violinist and composer, and was officially adopted in 1894, replacing both "La Sammarinese" and the " Hymn of San Marino". It is one of a few without official lyrics along with the " Marcha Real" of Spain, the National Anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and " Europe" of Kosovo. Giosué Carducci wrote the lyrics which were never adopted and are not sung in official ceremonies. Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino, commonly known as San Marino RTV (abbreviated SMRTV), is the public service broadcaster of San Marino. On 13 June 2011, San Marino RTV changed its name to SMtv San Marino. In November 2013, the name was changed back to San Marino RTV. Federico Consolo (April 4, 1841 – December 14, 1906) was an Italian violinist and composer. Background and earlier life Federico Consolo was born to Benjamin Consolo at Ancona in 1841. After studying the violin with Ferdinando Giorgetti in Florence and Vieuxtemps in Brussels, and composition with Fétis and Liszt, he played with great success at almost all the European courts and in the Orient. In 1884, however, he was compelled by a nervous affliction to discontinue violin-playing. He removed to Florence, and devoted himself to composition.
