National Taiwan College Of Performing Arts
The National Taiwan College of Performing Arts (NTCPA; ) is a public college located in Taipei, Taiwan. History It was known as Fu Sheng (Fu Xing Ju Xiao) or Lu Kwan Peking Opera school. Although called a Peking Opera school, students actually learned Taiwanese opera, sung in Hokkien dialect rather than Mandarin. Notable students included Lu Feng, Chiang Sheng, Charlie Chin, Philip Kwok, Angela Mao and James Tien who subsequently worked in the Hong Kong film industry. On 1 July 1999, the National Fu Hsing Dramatic Arts Academy merged with the National Kuo Kuang Academy of Arts to establish National Taiwan Junior College of Performing Arts. Neihu District
Neihu District is a district of Taipei City, Taiwan. Neihu means "inner lake." The older name originates from the Ketagalan word ''Tayour'' (transliterated by the Dutch as ''Cattajo''), meaning woman's head ornament. Many mountainous roads and paths, which are ideal for hiking, connect Neihu with the neighboring Shilin District and Yangmingshan National Park. The Tri-Service General Hospital, which is a teaching hospital of the National Defense Medical Center, is also in Neihu. The Wuchih Mountain Military Cemetery borders Neihu. History During Japanese rule, Naiko Village () covered modern day Neihu in addition to Nangang. The village was under Shichisei District, Taihoku Prefecture. Taiwanese Opera
Taiwanese opera () commonly known as Ke-Tse opera or Hokkien opera, is a form of traditional drama originating in Taiwan. Taiwanese opera uses a stylised combination of both the literary and colloquial registers of Taiwanese Hokkien. Its earliest form adopted elements of folk songs from Zhangzhou, Fujian, China. It’s plots are traditionally drawn from folk tales of the southern Fujian region, though in recent years stories are increasingly set in Taiwan itself. Taiwanese opera was later exported to other Hokkien-speaking areas, such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Fujian, China.
