National Star College
The National Star College (previously known as the Star Centre) is an independent specialist further education college for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and associated learning difficulties. It is based at Ullenwood Manor in the village of Ullenwood, near the spa town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. It is constituted as a company and registered charity under English law, using the official name National Star Centre for Disabled Youth. In June 2012, the National Star College received an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted. The outstanding rating was continued in the 2018 inspection. Ullenwood is a village in the Coberley civil parish, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. It is the site of a formerly secret civil defence bunker intended as a Regional Seat of Government in the event of nuclear war. It is the site of the former Ullenwood army camp which was used during the two World Wars as a U.S. military hospital. For three decades at the end of the 20th century, Ullenwood Camp was used each summer as accommodation for archaeologists engaged in excavating the site at nearby Crickley Hill. Coberley
Coberley is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire in England, south of Cheltenham. It lies at the confluence of several streams ( Seven Springs) that form the River Churn, a tributary of the River Thames. The medieval village was closer to the main road, near a spring to the east of Coberley Court. The sites of the medieval and modern villages of Upper Coberley are a short distance to the east.
