National Sports Tribunal
The National Sports Tribunal is a body established by the ''National Sports Tribunal Act 2019'' to hear and resolve sports-related disputes in Australia. It provides national sporting organisations (and other sporting bodies), athletes and athlete support personnel with "a cost-effective, efficient, and independent forum for resolving sports-related disputes, consistent, transparent and accountable services and a range of resolution methods: arbitration, mediation, conciliation or case appraisal". The Tribunal was a recommendation of the Report of the Review of Australia's Sports Integrity Arrangements (the Wood review). Previously appeals from the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) had been heard by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Administrative Appeals Tribunal
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is an Australian tribunal that conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws of the Australian Government. The AAT review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies, and in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. They also review decisions made under Norfolk Island laws. It is not a court and not part of the Australian court hierarchy; however, its decisions are subject to review by the Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. The AAT was established by the ''Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975'' and started operation in 1976. Richard Colbeck
Richard Mansell Colbeck (born 5 April 1958) is an Australian politician. He has been a Senator for Tasmania since 2018, representing the Liberal Party, and served a previous term in the Senate from 2002 to 2016. Colbeck served as the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services and Minister for Sport in the Second Morrison Ministry from December 2020 until May 2022, following the appointment of the Albanese ministry. Previous to this, he was the Minister for Aged Care and Minister for Youth and Sport since May 2019. John Boultbee (sport Administrator)
John Francis Boultbee AM (born 9 March 1950) is a lawyer and leading Australian sport administrator particularly in relation to rowing and football. In 1990, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to rowing as an administrator. The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) was a government statutory authority tasked to protect Australia's sporting integrity through the elimination of doping. The authority was part of the Department of Health's portfolio and was established on 13 March 2006 under the Australian Sports Anti‑Doping Authority Act 2006. On 1 July 2020, it became part of Sport Integrity Australia. The ASADA drug tested Australian athletes who competed at state and national levels. ASADA also tested international athletes if they were competing in events held in Australia. It was also ASADA's role to inform the sporting community of drugs and related safety issues. Sport Integrity Australia is an executive agency of the Australian Government which commenced operation on 1 July 2020. The agency was established by the Parliament of Australia from the recommendations presented in the ''Report of the Review of Australia's Sports Integrity Arrangements'', completed by the Department of Health (Australia), Department of Health. Sport Integrity Australia will combine the operations of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, the National Integrity of Sport Unit of the Department of Health (Australia), Department of Heath, and the integrity programs of Australian Sports Commission, Sport Australia.
