National Space Defense Center
The National Space Defense Center (NSDC) is a subordinate center of United States Space Command's Joint Task Force–Space Defense. It is responsible for coordinating military, intelligence, civil, and commercial space for unified space defense operations. The NSDC is located at Schriever Space Force Base, outside of Colorado Springs. Mission The National Space Defense Center integrates Department of Defense, multiple agencies, and Intelligence Community personnel and authorities to enable unified space defense. The National Space Defense Center executes mission orders received from the joint space tasking order (JSTO) and NRO space tasking order. Joint Task Force–Space Defense
The Joint Task Force–Space Defense (JTF–SD) is a joint task force and subordinate command of United States Space Command. It is responsible for executing control of space defense and space domain awareness units to protect and defend U.S. space capabilities. Schriever Space Force Base
Schriever Space Force Base, previously Schriever Air Force Base, Falcon Air Force Base, and Falcon Air Force Station, is a base of the United States Space Force located approximately east of Peterson Space Force Base near Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. History : ''Source: USAF Schriever AFB'' Groundbreaking for what would become Schriever Air Force Base took place in May 1983. It was originally called the Consolidated Space Operations Center (CSOC) during the development phase, and was renamed Falcon Air Force Station upon becoming operational. United States Space Command
United States Space Command (USSPACECOM or SPACECOM) is a unified combatant command of the United States Department of Defense, responsible for military operations in outer space, specifically all operations 100 kilometers (62 miles) and greater above mean sea level. U.S. Space Command is responsible for the operational employment of space forces that are provided by the uniformed services of the Department of Defense. Space Command was originally created in September 1985 to provide joint command and control for all military forces in outer space and coordinate with the other combatant commands.
