National Salvation Party
The National Salvation Party ( tr, Millî Selâmet Partisi, MSP) was an Islamist political party in Turkey, founded on 11 October 1972 as the successor of the banned National Order Party (''Millî Nizam Partisi'', MNP). The party was formed by a core group of working cadres of the now banned MNP, with Süleyman Arif Emre serving as the registered founding chairman. Given the banning of the MNP by the staunchly secular state, only 19 individuals were ready to form the party. Necmettin Erbakan, who took part in the formation of the party, officially joined the party in May 1973, taking over the reigns of the party in October 1973. The party grew more popular and in 1973 elections it gained 11.8% of votes, gaining 48 seats in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. In 1977 elections it gained 8.56% of votes and won 24 seats. Necmettin Erbakan
Necmettin Erbakan (29 October 1926 – 27 February 2011) was a Turkish politician, engineer, and academic who was the Prime Minister of Turkey from 1996 to 1997. He was pressured by the military to step down as prime minister and was later banned from politics by the Constitutional Court of Turkey for allegedly violating the separation of religion and state as mandated by the constitution. The political ideology and movement founded by Erbakan, Millî Görüş, argues that Turkey can develop with its own power by protecting its religious values and moving forward with faster steps by rivaling the Western countries in favor of closer relations to Muslim countries. Turkology (or Turcology or Turkic studies) is a complex of humanities sciences studying languages, history, literature, folklore, culture, and ethnology of people speaking Turkic languages and Turkic peoples in chronological and comparative context. Osman Nuri Önügören (17 March 1934 – 3 July 2016) was a prominent Turkish businessman, born in the village of Adil Mosul (Koyunlu, Niğde), in Niğde. He completed his primary school education in Afyon where his father served at the state railway. He was unable to continue his education after primary school because of the prevailing famine at the time as well as other reasons. Unable to further his education, Osman Nuri Onugoren plied his trade as a street vendor in Ankara during his childhood. From this humble beginning, he went on to establish his first formal business in Bursa, after which he settled in Gemlik. Later on Osman Nuri moved to Fatih in 1957, where he established Emek Trade, a prominent carpets and furniture business. In 1971, he setup the Yatsan Bed factory.
