Verona, Kentucky
Verona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Boone County, Kentucky, Boone County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,455 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. History It has been stated that details regarding the community's settlement and its founders are unknown. In its earlier times, Verona was "a thriving business community surrounded by farmlands". The community had a building supply store, a blacksmith, a bank, a creamery, grocery stores, a dry goods store, saloons, tobacco shops, a barber shop, a funeral home, a jail and a post office. The community's post office was opened on March 24, 1834, and Verona was incorporated as a city in 1909. The city's incorporation later dissolved when the community's leadership became dormant. Kentucky Route 237 (KY 237) is a state highway in Boone County, Kentucky, connecting the Florence/Burlington area with Hebron. The southern terminus of the route is at KY 536 in Florence. The northern terminus is at KY 8 near Hebron. Most of the land surrounding KY 237 is residential. Route description KY 237 begins at an intersection with KY 536 (Mount Zion Road) in Florence. The route heads to the northwest as Gunpowder Road, running along the east bank of the south fork of Gunpowder Creek to the community of Sugartit, where KY 237 intersects US 42/US 127. Crittenden, Kentucky
Crittenden is a home rule-class city in Grant and Kenton counties, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 3,815 as of the 2010 census, up from 2,401 at the 2000 census. Rabbit Hash is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Boone County, Kentucky, United States, with a population of 315 ( 2010 census). It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town is notable for its name, its string of canine mayors, and its historic general store (c. 1831) which was largely destroyed by fire in 2016. Demographics Origin of name The hamlet was originally known as Carlton, but was required to change its name because mail was being mixed up with the larger community of Carrollton several miles down the Ohio River. Kentucky Route 338 (KY 338) is a State highway#United States, state highway in Kentucky. It begins at Kentucky Route 20, KY 20 in Northern Boone County, Kentucky, Boone County. It goes through Burlington, Kentucky where it intersects with Kentucky Route 18, KY 18. It then goes to a small town called Rabbit Hash, Kentucky where it intersects with Kentucky Route 536, KY 536 and again with KY 18. After it leaves Rabbit Hash, it runs by Big Bone Lick State Park before intersecting with U.S. Route 42 in Kentucky, U.S. Route 42 (US 42) and U.S. Route 127 in Kentucky, US 127 near Union, Kentucky, Union. Francisville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. Its population was 7,944 as of the 2010 census. Francisville shares ZIP code 41048 with the neighboring CDP of Hebron. It is the northernmost community in the state. History Francisville was founded in 1819, when 77 members of the Bullitsburg Baptist Church decided to establish a church closer to their homes.
