South Carolina Highway 10
South Carolina Highway 10 (SC 10) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina that travels from SC 28 near McCormick to the U.S. Route 25 Business (US 25 Bus.), US 178 Bus., and SC 34 in Greenwood. The highway is a two-lane highway that serves as a connector between McCormick and Greenwood. The first is known as McCormick Highway, while the remaining is known as Maxwell Avenue. Route description SC 10 is a two-lane, minor state highway in the southwest portion of the Upstate of South Carolina. The route runs generally south to north. Most of the route (particularly the southern portion) runs through or alongside the Sumter National Forest. The route begins just northwest of McCormick heading north to where is it begins a brief concurrency with US 221. South Carolina Highway 823 (SC 823) is a state highway in McCormick and Abbeville counties in South Carolina, United States. The highway connects Mount Carmel with rural areas of McCormick and Abbeville counties. Route description SC 823 begins at an intersection with SC 81 (Main Street) in Mount Carmel, within McCormick County. It travels to the north-northeast and immediately curves to the northeast along the western edge of Sumter National Forest. It crosses over Lott Creek, and then curves to the east-southeast and leaves Mount Carmel and enters the forest proper for a very short distance. It immediately crosses over the Little River. South Carolina Highway 81 (SC 81) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects rural areas of McCormick County with Greenville, via Calhoun Falls, Iva, Homeland Park, and Anderson. Route description SC 81 begins at an intersection with SC 28 east-southeast of Lethia within McCormick County. This intersection is within Sumter National Forest and just north of SC 28's crossing of Long Cane Creek. It travels to the northwest and curves to the west-southwest and travels through Lethia. It then curves to the southwest, passes just to the west of the John de la Howe School, and crosses the Little River. The highway then curves to the northwest.
