The United States National Historic Landmark program is operated under the auspices of the National Park Service, and recognizes structures, districts, objects, and similar resources nationwide according to a list of criteria of national dept. The state of Idaho is home to 10 of these landmarks, spanning a range of history from the Lewis and Clark expedition to the beginnings of nuclear power. Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) is a Private university, private Church of the Nazarene, Nazarene university in Nampa, Idaho. History Eugene Emerson organized a combination grade school and Bible school in 1913 as Idaho Holiness School. It was renamed twice in 1916, first to Northwest Holiness College and then to Northwest Nazarene College, and then became a liberal arts college in 1917 with degree-granting authority from the Idaho state Board of Education. While the college's first president, elected in 1916, was H. Orton Wiley of Pasadena University, Fred J. Shields filled in as acting president before leaving for the Eastern Nazarene College in 1919, while Wiley finished his postgraduate education, graduate work. Under Russell V. Idaho State Highway 18
U.S. Route 20 (US 20) is the portion of an east–west U.S. Highway in the state of Idaho. It begins northwest of Parma at the Oregon state line and enters Montana away from the Yellowstone National Park west entrance. Since 2019, US 20 has been designated as the Idaho Medal of Honor Highway. Route description At the western border, adjacent to Nyssa, Oregon, US 20 ( running concurrently with US 26) crosses the Snake River into Idaho at an approximate elevation of above sea level. State Highway 44 (SH-44) is a state highway in the U.S. State of Idaho. SH-44 travels through the Treasure Valley from Interstate 84 (I-84) to U.S. Route 20 (US-20) and US-26 in Garden City, Idaho. Route description State Highway 44 starts at the junction of Interstate 84 north of Caldwell at Exit 25. The highway heads eastward staying mostly to the north of the Boise River. The highway goes through the cities of Middleton and Star. Just to the east of Star meets its junction with Emmett Highway, SH-16.
