South Carolina Highway 184 (SC 184) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects the Georgia state line and the Ware Shoals area, via Antreville, Due West, and Donalds. Route description SC 184 begins at the Georgia state line, where the roadway crosses over the Savannah River and enters that state on the Sgt. Fred M. Newton Bridge as Georgia State Route 368 (Anderson Highway). It begins to travel through Anderson in an east-northeast direction and then curves to the north-northwest before an intersection with SC 187. It curves to the northeast and crosses over Little Generostee Creek before entering Iva. The highway turns right onto Hamilton Street. It has a concurrency with SC 81. This is a List of National Historic Landmarks in South Carolina, United States. The United States' National Historic Landmark (NHL) program is operated under the auspices of the National Park Service, and recognizes buildings, sites, structures, districts, and objects according to a list of criteria of national significance. South Carolina Highway 185
South Carolina Highway 185 (SC 185) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects Hodges and Due West with the Homeland Park area. Route description SC 185 begins at an intersection with US 178 (Old Shoals Junction Road) just southeast of Hodges, within Greenwood County. It travels to the northwest and nearly immediately enters the city limits of Hodges. It and US 178 take different paths through the town, and, at one point, are only about apart. SC 185 curves to the southwest and passes Hodges Elementary School before leaving town. South Carolina Highway 20 (SC 20) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects the cities of Abbeville, Belton, Williamston and Greenville. The highway is signed as a west-east highway though it physically runs south-to-north. Route description History Established in 1922 as an original state highway, it traversed from the Georgia state line to SC 8 (Guess Street/Green Avenue) in Greenville; connecting McCormick, Abbeville, Due West, Honea Path, Belton, and Williamston. Due West, South Carolina
Due West is a town in Abbeville County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,247 at the 2010 census. It is the home of Erskine College and Dixie High School. History Some say the name is a mispronunciation of "DeWitt's Corner", while others believe the town was due west on a pioneer trail. The Treaty of Dewitt's Corner, a historic peace negotiation in May 1777 with the Cherokee Indians, was signed in Due West. As a result of the treaty, the Cherokee peoples broke into two factions. One of them, the Chickamauga Cherokee, continued fighting area settlers for another 17 years. This route is part of a multi two-state route 72 that begins at Athens, Georgia and ends at Rock Hill, South Carolina.
