National Monarchist Union
The National Monarchist Union ( es, Unión Monárquica Nacional, links=no; UMN) was a Spanish political party, founded in April 1930 as successor to the Patriotic Union, the official party promoted by the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. Its leadership comprised several ministers of the regime as well as the son of the dictator. Featuring a Neo-Conservative matrix, the party included nonetheless an active group of representatives of the radical right and vouched for the installation of an Authoritarian monarchy. Ramiro De Maeztu
Ramiro de Maeztu y Whitney (May 4, 1875 – October 29, 1936) was a prolific Spanish essayist, journalist and publicist. His early literary work adscribes him to the Generation of '98. Adept to Nietzschean and Social Darwinist ideas in his youth, he became close to Fabian socialism and later to distributism and social corporatism during his spell as correspondent in London from where he chronicled the Great War. During the years of the Primo de Rivera dictatorship he served as Ambassador to Argentina. A staunch militarist, he became at the end of his ideological path one of the most prominent far-right theorists against the Spanish Republic, leading the reactionary voices calling for a military coup. A member of the cultural group ''Acción Española'', he spread the concept of "''Hispanidad''" (''Spanishness''). Eduardo Callejo de la Cuesta (1875–1950) was a Spanish jurist, politician and professor of the University of Valladolid who served as Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts during the Civil Directory of the Primo de Rivera dictatorship (1925–1930). His institutional career ended with his office presiding over the Council of State in Francoist Spain. José de Yanguas y Messía, 11th Viscount of Santa Clara de Avedillo (25 February 1890, in Linares, Jaén, Spain – 30 June 1974, in Madrid, Spain) was a Spanish noble, politician and diplomat who served as Minister of State and president of the National Assembly during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and Ambassador to the Holy See during that of General Francisco Franco. José Calvo Sotelo, 1st Duke of Calvo Sotelo, GE (6 May 1893 – 13 July 1936) was a Spanish jurist and politician, minister of Finance during the dictatorship of Miguel Primo de Rivera and a leading figure during the Second Republic.
