National Initiative Party
The National Initiative Party ( ro, Partidul Inițiativa Națională) was a small Romanian political party. It emerged after three Democratic Party (PD) MCDs were expelled form the party a few days after the Justice and Truth Alliance (DA) narrowly won the 2004 legislative election. The three members are: Cosmin Gușă, Lavinia Șandru, and Aurelian Pavelescu. The party merged into UNPR in December 2011. Its founding members were political analyst ( Cosmin Gușă), member of UNPR (Lavinia Șandru), and had a dispute over the PNȚCD leadership (currently still held by Aurelian Pavelescu Aurelian Pavelescu (born October 20, 1964 in Lădești, Vâlcea County, Romania) is a Romanian politician. Lavinia Șandru
Marcela Lavinia Șandru (born February 6, 1975) is a Romanian politician, journalist and actress. The former president of the National Initiative Party (PIN), she was also vice president of the National Union for the Progress of Romania (UNPR). She was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Mureș County from 2004 to 2008. Biography She was born in Dej and attended the Târgu Mureș Arts University, graduating in 1997. She interned at the European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education in 2003, and in 2004 began work on a master's degree at the University of Bucharest's Faculty of Political Sciences. From 2001 to 2004 she headed public relations for Aldaco, a film company, and in 2004 was director of Star Media & Film. Europeans United for Democracy – Alliance for a Europe of Democracies, formerly known as ''EUDemocrats'', was a Eurosceptic and self-described Eurorealist alliance of parties and movements from 15 European countries. It operated as a transnational party at the European level ( European political party), according to Regulation (EC) No 2004/2003. It incorporated members from both the left and right of the political spectrum. 2007 European Parliament Election In Romania
Romania elected its members of the European Parliament for the first time on 25 November 2007; the election was initially scheduled for 13 May, but the PM postponed it for domestic political reasons. A referendum on a new voting system for national parliamentary elections was held on the same day. Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party
The Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party ( ro, Partidul Național Țărănesc Creștin Democrat, officially abbreviated PNȚCD) is a Christian democratic and agrarian political party in Romania. It claims to be the rightful successor of the interwar ''National Peasants' Party'' (PNȚ), created from the merger of the Romanian National Party (PNR) from the then Austro-Hungarian-ruled Transylvania and the Peasants' Party (PȚ) from the Romanian Old Kingdom. National Union For The Progress Of Romania
The National Union for the Progress of Romania ( ro, Uniunea Națională pentru Progresul României, UNPR) is a political party in Romania. The party was formed in March 2010 by independents who had broken away from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the National Liberal Party (PNL) to support President Traian Băsescu. Tension began soon after the party's formation between former PSD and PNL members over the distribution of leadership positions and the political direction of the new party, with former PSD members dominating. The first party congress to elect its leaders was on 1 May 2010.
