The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO), is a state owned company of Trinidad and Tobago.National Infrastructure Development Company (NIDCO) Ministry of Works and Transport. It was founded on January 11, 2005, but the inaugural Board was appointed on 22 March 2005. It is carrying out infrastructure projects that form Vision 2020, which is a plan created by the government, to achieve first world status, by the year 2020. The Trinidad Rapid Railway is a proposed passenger railway system in Trinidad and Tobago. Project On 11 April 2008, the TriniTrain consortium of Alstom Transport SA, Alstom T&T Ltd, Bouygues Construction and RATP Développement announced it had been selected by the government to plan and build two new passenger railway lines in Trinidad. WSP was advising the government on the routes. In a meeting with then Prime Minister Patrick Manning on 28 April 2009, Minister of Works & Transport, Colm Imbert said construction of the Trinidad Rapid Railway would commence in mid-2010, with the first train rolling out of the capital city approximately 36 to 39 months later as detailed by the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO). The People's Partnership (PP) was a political coalition in Trinidad and Tobago among five political parties: the United National Congress (UNC), the Congress of the People (COP), the Tobago Organization of the People (TOP), Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) and National Joint Action Committee (NJAC). The political leader was Kamla Persad-Bissessar. The coalition was formed in advance of the 2010 general election attempting to form a multi-ethnic opposition bloc against the People's National Movement (PNM) government led by Patrick Manning.
