National Highway 24 (NH 24) is a primary national highway in India, running in a north-south direction. This highway runs entirely in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This highway was created by renumbering former NH29 and NH97 as per new numbering system of national highways. Route NH24 connects Sonauli (Indo/Nepal border), Nautanwa, Kolhui, Pharenda, Rawatganj, Gorakhpur, Bhaurapur, Kauriram, Barhalganj, Doharighat, Ghosi, Mau, Mardah, Ghazipur, Zamania and Saiyad Raja in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Sonauli is a town, near city of Maharajganj in Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh, India. It located on the Indo-Nepal Border and is a well-known and most famous transit point between India and Nepal. Sonauli is around 75 km from district headquarter Mahrajganj, Uttar Pradesh. 90 km from Gorakhpur, which is the nearest major city. On 28 April 2010, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways officially published a new numbering system for the National Highway network in the Gazette of the Government of India. It is a systematic numbering scheme based on the orientation and the geographic location of the highway. This was adopted to ensure more flexibility and consistency in the numbering of existing and new national highways. As per the new numbering system: * All north-south oriented highways will have even numbers increasing from the east to the west. * All east-west oriented highways will have odd numbers increasing from the north to the south. * All major Highways will be single digit or double digit in number. * Three-digit numbered highways are secondary routes or branches of a main highway. The secondary route number is prefixed to the number of the main highway. Pharenda, or Anandnagar, is a city in the Maharajganj district of the province of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. It is located approximately 44 kilometres north of Gorakhpur near the border with Nepal. District of Pharenda is Maharajganj. Siddhartha Highway ( ne, सिद्धार्थ राजमार्ग, also referred to as H10, now renamed NH 047) is a major highway in Nepal that connects the Terai region in southern Nepal with the mountain region in northern Nepal. Zamania is a town in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its municipal council is subordinate to the Ghazipur District. History According to Hindu mythology, Zamania was the place where Rishi Jamadagni (father of Lord Parashurama) had his ashrama. Koshi Highway
Koshi Highway ( ne, कोशी राजमार्ग) or H08 is a 390 km long planned highway located in Province No. 1 of Nepal. It is north-south highway which is understood to be shortest highway which connects India to China across the Himalayan mountains in Nepal. Rani at Biratnagar is starting point of the road which is connected to Jogbani in India and Kimathanka is the end point of the Koshi Highway, which is connected to Chinese town Chentang. Almost all track has been open on this corridor, only 14 km of track was remaining to open in 2021.
