National Film Award For Best Supporting Actress
The National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress is an honour presented annually at India's National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), an organisation set up by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Since 1984, the award is given by a national panel appointed annually by the DFF to an actress for the best performance in a supporting role within Indian cinema. It is presented by the President of India at a ceremony held in New Delhi. The winner is given a "Rajat Kamal" (Silver Lotus) certificate and a cash prize of 50,000 (US$780). Including ties and repeat winners, the DFF has presented a total of 39 Best Supporting Actress awards to 35 different actresses. Aida El-Kashef
Aida El-Kashef is a feminist Egyptian filmmaker and actress. Her acting credits include ''Ship of Theseus'' and '' Walad w Bent''. She has also directed the short films ''A Tin Tale'' and ''Rhapsody in Autumn''. El-Kashef was involved in the protests at Tahrir Square, where she filmed the events of the Arab Spring as they unfolded. She was one of the first protestors to occupy Tahrir where she set up a tent. Surekha Sikri (19 April 1945 16 July 2021) was an Indian theatre, film and television actress. Sikri received several awards, including three National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. A veteran of Hindi theatre, she made her debut in the 1977 political drama film ''Kissa Kursi Ka'' and went on to play supporting roles in numerous Hindi and Malayalam films, as well as in Indian soap operas.
