The National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations ( th, สมาพันธ์สมาคมภาพยนต์เเห่งชาติ, MPC, previously known as the Federation of National Film Associations) is the main professional and trade organization of Thailand's film industry. It was established in 1991 in order to provide a central platform for the various existing professional associations, and now has 20 member associations. Huai Khwang District
Huai Khwang ( th, ห้วยขวาง, ) is one of the 50 districts (khet) of Bangkok, Thailand. It is east of the city centre. Neighbouring districts are Chatuchak, Wang Thonglang, Bang Kapi, Suan Luang, Watthana, Ratchathewi, and Din Daeng. History Huai Khwang district was established in an area formerly part of Phaya Thai in 1973. Adjustments to the district were made in 1978, adjusting boundaries with neighboring districts Phaya Thai and Bang Kapi, and again in 1993, creating the new Din Daeng District. The name "Huai Khwang" literally meaning 'barricaded creek' (''huai'' means ' creek' and ''khwang'' means 'barricaded'). Cinema Of Thailand
The cinema of Thailand dates back to the early days of filmmaking, when King Chulalongkorn's 1897 visit to Bern, Switzerland was recorded by François-Henri Lavancy-Clarke. The film was then brought to Bangkok, where it was exhibited. This sparked more interest in film by the Thai Royal Family and local businessmen, who brought in filmmaking equipment and started to exhibit foreign films. By the 1920s, a local film industry was started and in the 1930s, the Thai film industry had its first "golden age", with a number of studios producing films. The years after the Second World War saw a resurgence of the industry, which used 16 mm film to produce hundreds of films, many of them hard-driving action films.
