National Envelope Corporation was an American manufacturer of envelopes. National Envelope was founded in 1952 in New York, New York as the New York Envelope Company by William Ungar, who served as its chairman, president and chief executive officer. Founded with 3 machines and 5 employees, Ungar grew the business through acquisitions, the purchase of assets from bankrupt or troubled companies, and organic growth. In 2001, they had seventeen manufacturing facilities in nine states. Envelope
An envelope is a common packaging item, usually made of thin, flat material. It is designed to contain a flat object, such as a letter or card. Traditional envelopes are made from sheets of paper cut to one of three shapes: a rhombus, a short-arm cross or a kite.
