The National Civil Service Agency ( id, Badan Kepegawaian Nasional, BKN) is a non-ministry government body in Indonesia for civil servant management. The equivalent counterpart are Civil Service (United Kingdom), Civil Service in United Kingdom. History During Indonesian National Revolution, the civil service was divided into Republic of Indonesia government and Dutch East Indies government. The Indonesian government formed Office of Civil Servant Affairs ( id, Kantor Urusan Pegawai Negeri, KUP) with Government Regulation 11/1948 on 30 May 1948 which located at Yogyakarta. The Dutch East Indies government formed General Staff Service ( nl, Dienst voor Algemene Personele, DAPZ, id, Djawatan Umum Urusan Pegawai, DUUP), by the Decree of the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies Number 13 dated June 9, 1948, headed by Mr. J.W. The term Government of Indonesia ( id, Pemerintah Indonesia) can have a number of different meanings. At its widest, it can refer collectively to the three traditional branches of government – the executive branch, legislative branch and judicial branch. The term is also used colloquially to mean the executive and legislature together, as these are the branches of government responsible for day-to-day governance of the nation and lawmaking.
