National Cable Networks
National Cable Networks (russian: Национальные кабельные сети) was a Russian company which provides Pay-TV. It was fully owned by Rostelecom, and headquartered in Moscow. The company merged with Rostelecom in 2013. History In 2001, formed of "National Cable Networks." The first step was the acquisition of companies "Infokos +" and "Eltelekor" in the Moscow region and "NovAKTV" in Novosibirsk, the company subsequently entered the markets of Kurgan and Yekaterinburg. In 2005, JSC "NCC" has completed the acquisition of 98% shares of JSC "St. Petersburg broadcaster Cable TV" (BD). In March 2006, formed of National Telecommunications, which becomes the holding company for OAO "NCC" and several other companies. In early 2012, OJSC Rostelecom consolidated 100% of voting shares of NTC. Rostelecom is Russia’s largest provider of digital services for a wide variety of consumers, households, private businesses, government and municipal authorities, and other telecom providers. Rostelecom interconnects all local public operators’ networks into a single national network for long-distance service. In other words, if one makes a long-distance call or originates Internet contact to or from Russia, it is likely that Rostelecom is providing part of the service. The company's stock trades primarily on the Moscow Exchange. History Prior to 1990, responsibility for the provision of telecommunications services lie at the Ministry of Communications of the USSR. On June 26, 1990, the Ministry of Communications of the USSR established a state-owned joint-stock company Sovtelekom, which was given the rights to operate the telecommunications network of the USSR.
