National Athletic Basketball League
The National Athletic Basketball League (NABL) was a men's semi-professional basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. The league was founded by Nathan Mumm and Joe Becerra. The NABL was an owner controlled league, which enabled the owners to vote on all aspects of the business. History The 2010 NABL season saw six teams competing: Portland Showtime, Salem Stampede, Snohomish County Explosion, Seattle Aviators/Mountaineers, Tacoma Thunder and Tualatin Rainmakers. On May 25, 2010, the Mountaineers withdrew from the NABL mid-season to join the ABA, citing "The NABL was not a good fit for our organization, and we need to go in another direction." The 2010 NABL Finals were contested between the Portland Showtime and the Salem Stampede, with the Showtime winning the best-of-three series 2–0 to claim the inaugural championship. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular Basketball court, court, compete with the primary objective of #Shooting, shooting a basketball (ball), basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a Backboard (basketball), backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Americas
The Americas, which are sometimes collectively called America, are a landmass comprising the totality of North and South America. Nathan Mumm
Nathan Mumm (from Everett, Washington) is a Snohomish County multi-business executive. Born in 1973, his success in property management, technology, and media, which includes the national weekly radio show TechTime Radio, has allowed him the ability to diversify into many ventures within the Pacific Northwest. He is the current radio talk show host for TechTime Radio. He was the original owner of the Snohomish County Explosion that played in the National Athletic Basketball League and International Basketball League. He is currently the President of Courtyard Media Foundation, a non-profit foundation in Snohomish County. Mumm is known as a key leader in Snohomish County regarding business and entertainment. Seattle Mountaineers
The Seattle Mountaineers are a semi-professional basketball club and a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). They are currently a touring exhibition team that plays against junior and community colleges within the United States and Canada. After four years as an IBL franchise, the Mountaineers jumped to the ABA in 2010 and applied and received non-profit status. Team owner, president and head coach Don Sims is a Christian. American Basketball Association (2000–present)
The American Basketball Association (ABA) is an American semi-professional men's basketball minor league that was founded in 1999. The ABA has teams based in the United States and previously had international teams based in Canada and Mexico. In the past, there were traveling teams from countries such as Australia and Japan who played in the ABA. Additionally, there were players from other countries that were on a U.S. team to showcase other talented athletes in the country. The current ABA bears no relation to the original American Basketball Association (1967–1976) that was considered a major league, and merged with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1976. Dominic Wayne Waters (born September 28, 1986) is an American professional basketball player, who lastly played for Ironi Nahariya of the Israeli Premier League. Standing at 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in), he plays at the point guard position. In 2013, he was the Israeli Premier League Assists Leader. High school career Waters played high school basketball at Grant High School, in Portland, Oregon. College career Waters played college basketball at the University of Hawaii, where he played with the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and at Portland State University, where he played with the Portland State Vikings.
