Nathan Holman
Nathan Holman (born 19 April 1991) is an Australian professional golfer from Melbourne, Australia who plays on the PGA Tour of Australasia, the European Tour, and the Asian Tour. In December 2015, he won the Australian PGA Championship for his first professional victory. Amateur career Holman had a successful amateur career and just prior to turning professional he was ranked number two in Australia and number 25 in the world. He played regularly as an amateur on the PGA Tour of Australasia in the last twelve months of his amateur career, including a top 20 finish in the Victorian PGA Championship. He also tied for fifth at the Heritage Classic and tied for second in the Victorian Open. The PGA Tour of Australasia, currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia, is a professional golf tour for men, owned and operated by the PGA of Australia. Official events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. The tour is recognised as being founded in 1973 when the PGA of Australia instituted an Order of Merit. The WGC Championship was a professional golf tournament that was held between 1999 and 2021. It was one of the three or four annual World Golf Championships until the number of WGC events was reduced to two following the 2021 season. The PGA Championship (often referred to as the US PGA Championship or USPGA outside the United States) is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Masters Tournament
The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. 2016 European Tour
The 2016 European Tour was the eighth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 45th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The Race to Dubai was won for the second time by Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who was also named Golfer of the Year. The Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year was Wang Jeung-hun from South Korea. Master Of The Amateurs
The Australian Master of the Amateurs is an amateur golf tournament. It is a four-day 72-hole stroke play event held in early January. The men's event started in 1997 with the women's event added in 2018. The event was originally called the Master of the Amateurs and was held in Queensland from its founding in 1997 until 2000. After missing a year in 2001 the event relocated to Melbourne, Victoria. Victorian Amateur Championship
The Victorian Amateur Championship is the state amateur golf championship of Victoria, Australia. It has been played annually since 1899, except for the war years. Two players have won the championship six times, Michael Scott between 1904 and 1910, and Eric Routley between 1952 and 1966. Ivo Whitton won five times between 1919 and 1924, while Harry Williams won five times in the 1930s. Format The event is a match play tournament. Matches are over 18 holes, except for the final which is over 36 holes. Normally the leading 32 players in the Port Phillip Open Amateur qualify. In 2020 the number of qualifiers was reduced to 8, the championship being played over two days instead three. Riversdale Cup
The Riversdale Cup is the second oldest amateur golf tournament in Australia. It is a Golf Australia national ranking event. The event has been played since 1896 and is organised by and played at the Riversdale Golf Club in Mount Waverley, Victoria. It was known as the Surrey Hills Gentlemen's Championship, Gold Medal from 1896 to 1907, the Riversdale Trophy from 1909 to 1926, and the Riversdale Cup since 1928. The WGC Invitational was a professional golf tournament that was held in the United States. Established in 1999 as a successor to the World Series of Golf, it was one of three or four annual World Golf Championships (WGC) until 2021, when the number of WGC events was reduced to two. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Invitational was titled as the WGC-NEC Invitational (1999–2005) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2006–2018). During this time, it was hosted at Firestone Country Club in Ohio, except for 2002 when it was hosted at Sahalee Country Club in Washington. Royal Troon Golf Club is a links golf course in Scotland, located in Troon, South Ayrshire, southwest of Glasgow.
