Nathan Drummond
Nathan Drummond (born 19 January 1995) was a professional Australian rules footballer who played five matches for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) during a four-year stint at the club between 2015 and 2018. Early life and junior football Drummond grew up in Mooroopna, a Victorian country town 181 kilometers north of Melbourne. He played junior football with the local Mooroopna Football Club. He attended Notre Dame College, Shepparton. As a teenager, Drummond moved to Melbourne to board at Melbourne Grammar on an AIEF Scholarship. He travelled home regularly though, including to player with the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup in 2013. He also played for the Victorian Country side that year, representing the team at 2013 National Championships. Goulburn Valley Football League
The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. History The league was initially called the Goulburn Valley District Football Association(GVDFA) and dates back to May, 1893. Clubs from the townships of Kyabram, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Nathalia, Numurkah, Shepparton, Shepparton Ramblers, Tatura, Undera and Wunghnu were present at the inaugural meeting. Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury
An anterior cruciate ligament injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. Symptoms include pain, an audible cracking sound during injury, instability of the knee, and joint swelling. Swelling generally appears within a couple of hours. In approximately 50% of cases, other structures of the knee such as surrounding ligaments, cartilage, or meniscus are damaged. The underlying mechanism often involves a rapid change in direction, sudden stop, landing after a jump, or direct contact to the knee. William Cooper (Aboriginal Australian)
William Cooper (18 December 1860 or 1861 – 29 March 1941) was an Aboriginal Australian political activist and community leader; the first to lead a national movement recognised by the Australian Government. Early life William Cooper was born in Yorta Yorta territory around the intersection of the Murray and Goulburn Rivers in Victoria, Australia on 18 December 1860 or 1861. His family was a small remnant of what Cooper recalled as a large tribal group, "As a lad I can remember 500 men of my tribe, the Moiras, gathered on one occasion. Now my family is the only relic of the tribe." From there Cooper appears to have been forced by necessity to work for a variety of pastoral employers, even as a child. Tom Drummond (footballer)
Thomas "Chick" Taylor Drummond (6 August 1897 – 26 May 1970) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Drummond was a member of Collingwood premiership teams in 1917 and 1919 and their runner up team in 1920. He represented Victoria at interstate football in 1921 at the Western Australian Football Carnival and again in 1922 against South Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. A wingman, he captained Collingwood in the 1922 VFL season and led the club to the 1922 VFL Grand Final which they lost by 11 points to Fitzroy Football Club. Drummond was initially appointed as coach of the Williamstown Football Club in March, 1923, but owing to a delay in the permit being granted, Charlie Laxton was appointed instead. 2018 AFL Season
The 2018 AFL season was the 122nd season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior men's Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 22 March until 29 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a 2018 AFL finals series, finals series featuring the top eight clubs.
