Nate Snell
Nathaniel Snell (born September 2, 1959) is an American former professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers, for four seasons. Snell was signed by the Orioles as an amateur free agent in September 1976, right after the completion of that year's Minor League season. He played his first professional season with their Class A-Advanced Miami Orioles in 1977, and split his last season with the Class A-Advanced Miami Marlins and the Cincinnati Reds' Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and Triple-A Nashville Sounds in 1988. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In baseball or softball, a strikeout (or strike-out) occurs when a batter accumulates three strikes during a time at bat. It usually means that the batter is out.
