Nate Smith (catcher)
Nathaniel Beverly Smith (April 26, 1935 – August 18, 2019) was an American professional baseball player, a catcher whose career was confined to minor league baseball except for a five-game Major League Baseball, Major League stint with the Baltimore Orioles at the end of the season. He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . Born in Chicago, Smith attended Tennessee State University. His professional career (1956–59; 1961–64) was spent in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers' organization until the Orioles purchased his contract from the Triple-A Omaha Dodgers in September 1962. Nate Smith (golfer)
Nathan J. Smith (born August 7, 1983) is an American professional golfer. Smith was born in Santa Monica, California. He played at Soquel High and transferred to Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, where he also played golf two seasons. He played college golf at Duke University where he was a two-time All-American. He turned professional after graduating in 2006. Smith played on the mini-tours from 2006 to 2008. He joined the Challenge Tour in 2009 via qualifying school. He joined the Nationwide Tour in 2010 and won his first title in September at the WNB Golf Classic. Smith just missed out on an automatic PGA Tour card, finishing 27th on the 2010 Nationwide Tour. He later earned his card through qualifying school. Ira Nathaniel Smith (born December 14, 1974) is an American drummer, songwriter, producer, and three-time Grammy nominee. Life and career Smith was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, and started playing drums at age 11, initially influenced by rock and funk music. At 16, he developed an interest in jazz after listening to '' Album of the Year'' by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. Smith studied media art and design at James Madison University. While at James Madison, he performed at the Conference of the International Association for Jazz Education in Atlanta, where he met Betty Carter, who invited him to joint performances at the Blue Note in New York City. Smith went to graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he met Dave Holland and joined Holland's quintet in 2003. Nate David Smith (born August 28, 1991) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Career After graduating from Lakota West High School, Smith played college baseball at Furman University. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the eighth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. Smith signed with the Angels and made his professional debut with the Orem Owlz. He spent the whole season there, going 2–2 with a 3.86 ERA in 35 innings. He started 2014 with the Inland Empire 66ers and was later promoted to the Arkansas Travelers. In 21 starts between the two teams, he compiled an 11–6 record and 2.97 ERA. After the season, he played for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League. After his song "Wildfire" went viral on TikTok in 2020, he signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV and gained prominence on social media before landing his major label record deal.
