Natalia Mela
Natalia Mela (Greek: Ναταλία Μελά; 1923–14 April 2019) was a Greek sculptor. She was the granddaughter of the fighter of the Macedonian Struggle Pavlos Melas and wife of architect Aris Konstantinidis. Biography Natalia Mela born in Kifissia, Athens and grew up in an upper-class household with historical origins. She was the granddaughter of the " Makedonomachos" Pavlos Melas and Natalia Dragoumis. Her father was Michail Melas and her mother was the daughter of Ioannis Pesmazoglou, founder of the National Bank of Greece along with Georgios Stavros. Her grandmother from the side of her father was of the Dragoumi family and was the sister of Ion Dragoumis and daughter of Stephanos Dragoumis. At 1942 she was enlisted at the Athens School of Fine Arts, with professors such as Kostas Dimitriadis and Mihalis Tompro. She worked at the workshop of Athanase Apartis. Kifissia or Kifisia (also Kephisia or Cephissia; el, Κηφισιά, ) is one of the most expensive northern suburbs of Athens, Greece, mainly accessed via Kifissias Avenue, running all the way from central Athens up to Theseos Avenue in the suburb of Nea Erythraia. Karolos Koun
Karolos Koun ( el, Κάρολος Κουν; September 13, 1908 in Bursa – February 14, 1987 in Athens) was a prominent Greek theater director, widely known for his lively staging of ancient Greek plays. Biography Koun was born in Bursa, Ottoman Empire to a Greek mother and a Polish Jewish father. He was educated in Ottoman Turkey until the end of high school. He graduated from Robert College in Istanbul and then went to Sorbonne for his university education. As his family's economic situation worsened, he couldn't continue his education. He had been praised all over Europe for his bawdy, colorful stagings of the 5th century BC political comedies of Aristophanes. Yiannis Moralis
Yiannis Moralis ( el, Γιάννης Μόραλης; also transliterated Yannis Moralis or Giannis Moralis; 23 April 1916 – 20 December 2009) was an important Greece, Greek visual artist and part of the so-called "Generation of the '30s (Greek painting), Generation of the '30s". Life Born in Arta, Greece, in 1916, Moralis moved to Athens with his parents in 1927. Andreas Embirikos ( el, Ανδρέας Εμπειρίκος; September 2, 1901 in Brăila – August 3, 1975 in Kifissia, Attica) was a Greek surrealist poet and one of the first Greek psychoanalysts. Life Embirikos was born in Brăila, Romania into a wealthy Greek family. His father Leonidas Embirikos was an important ship-owner and politician. His family soon moved to Ermoupolis in Syros, one of the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. When Embirikos was only seven years old they moved to Athens. Vasilissis Sofias Avenue () is a major avenue in the east side of Athens, the Greek capital. The avenue was originally part of the Kifisias Avenue. The part from Syntagma Square to the intersection with Alexandras Avenue was renamed after Queen Sophia, the consort of King Constantine I. The avenue begins at the intersections of Amalias Avenue and Panepistimiou Street and ends by Alexandras, Kifissias and Mesogeion Avenues as well as Feidippou Street, with a total length of approximately 3 km.
