Nasir Hosseini
Seyyed Nasir Hosseini (Persian: سید نصیر حسینی) (born: 1967, Yasuj) is an Iranian Twelver Shia cleric who is the representative of Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province and likewise the Imam of Friday Prayer in the city of Yasuj who has been recently appointed by the decree of Iran's supreme leader, Seyyed Ali Khamenei at the mentioned position(s). Life Seyyed Nasir Hosseini was born in 1967 in Yasuj ( Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province) in a religious family. He passed his elementary education in Yasuj, and went to the Hawzah of "Hazrat Wali-asr" in his city --in 1983. Later on, Hosseini went to Shiraz (to Hawzah AqaBabaKhan), and studied his religious education there; likewise, he taught there as a teacher. ''Sayyid'' (, ; ar, سيد ; ; meaning 'sir', 'Lord', 'Master'; Arabic plural: ; feminine: ; ) is a surname of people descending from the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandsons, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali, sons of Muhammad's daughter Fatima and his cousin and son-in-law Ali (Ali ibn Abi Talib). Abdollah Javadi Amoli ( fa, عبدالله جوادی آملی; born ) is an Iranian Twelver Shi'a Marja. He is a conservative and principlist Iranian politician, philosopher and one of the prominent Islamic scholars of the Hawza. Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Hossein Wahid Khorasani ( fa, حسین وحید خراسانی; born Mohammad-Hossein Molla-Saleh (Persian: ); 1 January 1921) is an Iranian author and Shia marja'. He is the current head of the Qom Seminary. Khorasani is considered to be the most learned Shia religious authority alive. Grand Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Bahjat Foumani ( fa, محمدتقی بهجت فومنی) (24 August 1916 – 17 May 2009) was an Iranian Twelver Shia Marja'. Biography Mohammad-Taqi was born on 24 August 1916 in the Fouman, Gilan province in the north of Iran. Mohammad's mother died when he was at an early age and he lived with father. Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi (, born 25 February 1927 in Shiraz, Iran) is an Iranian Shia ''marja''' and religious leader. Biography He was born in the city of Shiraz, Iran. ''Kitab al-Makasib'' or ''Makasib'' ( ar, كتاب المكاسب, lit=Transactions) is a two-volume Twelver Shi'ah legal manual of Islamic commercial law written on ''Fiqh'' by Morteza Ansari. Qom Seminary
The Qom Seminary () is the largest Islamic seminary (''hawza'') in Iran, established in 1922 by Grand Ayatollah Abdul-Karim Haeri Yazdi in Qom. It trains Usuli scholars. History Although big Shi'a academies existed in Qom dating back as early as 10th century CE, the hawza of the city became prominent at the time of the Safavids when Shi'a Islam became the official religion of Iran. The famous teachers of that era included Mulla Sadra and Shaykh Bahai. The modern Qom hawza was revitalized by Abdul Karim Haeri Yazdi and Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi and is barely a century old.
