Narelle Jubelin
Narelle Jubelin (born 1960) is an Australian artist who has lived and practiced in Madrid since 1996. Jubelin's often collaborative work spans across media such as sculpture, printmaking, multi-media installation and is especially focused on single thread petit point stitching. She has been exhibiting her work internationally for over 30 years and exhibited work in the 1990 Venice Biennale. Her work is held in the Cruthers Collection of Women's Art, and she is represented by Mori Gallery, SydneyAnn Stephen, Luke Parker, Jacky Redgate, Narelle Jubelin: Vision in Motion / Ann Stephen, Luke Parker, Jacky Redgate, (The University of Sydney, 2012), 1-113 and The Commercial Gallery, Sydney. Petit Point
Tent stitch is a small, diagonal needlepoint stitch that crosses over the intersection of one horizontal (weft) and one vertical (warp) thread of needlepoint canvas forming a slanted stitch at a 45-degree angle. Samstag Museum
The Samstag Museum of Art, also known as the Samstag Museum, was opened in October 2007 as the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, in the Hawke Building of the CityWest campus of the University of South Australia (UniSA). The museum is named in honour of Anne & Gordon Samstag, "two distinguished American benefactors to Australian culture, whose remarkable bequest provides opportunities for Australian artists to study overseas." La Casa Encendida
La Casa Encendida is a social and cultural centre in central Madrid (on the Ronda de Valencia where it is met by Calle Valencia). It began operations in December 2002. It belongs to the Fundación Montemadrid (the formal title of which is Fundación Obra Social y Monte de Piedad de Madrid), a social responsibility entity set up by the Spanish bank Caja Madrid. Rozsika Parker
Rozsika Parker (27 December 1945 – 5 November 2010) was a British psychotherapist, art historian and writer and a feminist. Biography Parker was born in London and spent her early years in Oxford, studying at Wychwood School. Between the years 1966–1969, Parker studied for a degree in the history of European art at the Courtauld Institute in London. in 1972 she joined the feminist magazine ''Spare Rib''. She and Griselda Pollock then went on to found a feminist group, The Feminist Art History Collective. In the 1980s, Parker had two children with the Jungian analyst Andrew Samuels, a boy and a girl. Parker died in 2010 at age 64 of cancer. Legacy In 2013, the ''Rozsika Parker Essay Prize'' was established by the British Journal of Psychotherapy.
