Napoli Basket, known for sponsorship reasons as GeVi Napoli, is an Italian professional basketball team of the city of Naples. It's the ''de facto'' successor of the S.S. Basket Napoli, Basket Napoli which was dissolved in 2009. The team has achieved the promotion to the Lega Basket Serie A, Serie A after the end of the Serie A2 2020–21, 2020–21 season of the Serie A2 Basket. History 2016–2019: Beginnings In August 2016, after a corporate failure of Napoli Basketball, Ciro Ruggiero founded a new team, known as Cuore Napoli Basket. The transfer of the sporting title from Cilento Basket Agropoli allowed the newborn Neapolitan team to play in the 2016–17 Serie B. In the same season, Cuore Napoli Basket managed to win promotion to Serie A2 Basket, Serie A2, after having arrived first in Group C of the regular season and beat Bergamo Basket in the playoff's final. Lega Basket Serie A
The Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is a professional men's club basketball league that has been organised in Italy since 1920. Serie A is organised by Lega Basket, which is regulated by the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP). It is the highest-tier level of the Italian league system. The LBA plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 16 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the Serie A2 and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. PalaDozza
PalaDozza is an indoor sporting arena located at Piazza Azzarita Manfredi 8, in Bologna, Italy. It was named after Giuseppe Dozza, the long-time communist mayor of Bologna, who served from 1945 to 1966. In Italy, the arena is frequently nicknamed ''Il Madison'', after Madison Square Garden. The seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,721 people. It is currently home to the Virtus and Fortitudo Bologna professional basketball teams. Artūras Gudaitis (born 19 June 1993) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player who last played for Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. Maurizio Buscaglia (born 9 April 1969) is an Italian professional basketball coach. He is the current head coach of Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
