Nanba Nanba
''Nanba Nanba'' () is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Jayabharathi, starring Charle and Chandrasekhar. The film was released on 27 December 2002 and received critical acclaim, winning Chandrasekhar the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Plot Lawrence (Chandrasekhar) and Joseph ( Charle) are two orphans brought up by Father Kirupakaran ('Bharathi' Mani). They are best of friends and both become teachers in a school and live in the same house. One fateful day, they meet with an accident and Lawrence becomes a quadriplegic, with no movement below hip, due to multiple injuries in his spinal cord. Jayabharathi (director)
Jayabharathi is an Indian film director and screenwriter who has worked on Tamil films. Regarded as one of the pioneers of alternate cinema in the Tamil film industry, Jayabharathi has directed nine films across five decades. Career As a film student in the 1970s, Jayabharathi explored the idea of making films in an alternate genre in Tamil cinema and became one of the pioneers of the movement. His first film ''Kudisai'' (1979) was released after he undertook a crowd-funding route in order to raise Rs90,000 to distribute the film for screening, and in order to generate investment, he sold donation tickets and conducted programmes at government colleges. The film won critical acclaim upon release and has since been preserved at the National Film Archives. Velmurugan Thangasamy Manohar (born 6 March 1960), professionally credited as Charle, is an Indian actor who works in Tamil cinema. He has acted in more than 800 Tamil films as a comedian and supporting actor. He was named after the English comedian Charlie Chaplin. Biography Charle completed his degree in chemistry from G. V. N. Suresh Urs is an Indian film editor who works predominantly in the South Indian cinema. He has edited over 700 films and 40 documentaries and television shows. Bala Singh (7 May 195227 November 2019) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films. After making his debut in Nassar's '' Avatharam'' (1995), he appeared as the antagonist in over a hundred films. Early life and career Bala Singh was born in Kaliyakkavilai, near Marthandam in Kanyakumari District. Bala Singh initially began his career featuring in stage plays and trained with the National School of Drama, before being handed his first film role in Nassar's '' Avatharam'' (1995).
