Nan River
The Nan River ( th, แม่น้ำน่าน, , ) is a river in Thailand. It is one of the most important tributaries of the Chao Phraya River. Geography The Nan River originates in the Luang Prabang Range, Nan Province. The provinces along the river after Nan Province are Uttaradit, Phitsanulok and Phichit. The Yom River joins the Nan River at Chum Saeng District, Nakhon Sawan Province. When the Nan river joins together with the Ping River at Pak Nam Pho within the town Nakhon Sawan it becomes the Chao Phraya River. The Nan river runs about south. Tributaries The chief tributary of the Nan is the Yom River, which joins the Nan within Chum Saeng District in Nakhon Sawan Province. Mueang Uttaradit District
Mueang Uttaradit (, ) is the capital district ('' amphoe mueang'') of Uttaradit province, northern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Tha Pla, Thong Saen Khan, Tron, Laplae of Uttaradit Province and Den Chai of Phrae province. Yom River
The Yom River ( th, แม่น้ำยม, , ) is a river in Thailand. It is the main tributary of the Nan River (which itself is a tributary of the Chao Phraya River). The Yom River has its source in the Phi Pan Nam Range in Pong District, Phayao Province. Leaving Phayao, it flows through Phrae and Sukhothai as the main water resource of both provinces before it joins the Nan River at Chum Saeng District, Nakhon Sawan Province. Chum Saeng District
Chum Saeng ( th, ชุมแสง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in Nakhon Sawan province, upper central Thailand. History Chum Saeng is an old district of Nakhon Sawan. The government separated some parts of Mueang Nakhon Sawan district to establish Tambon Koei Chai. In 1903, the Interior ministry upgraded the tambon to be Phan Lan District, named after the central tambon. A few years later, the name was changed back to Koei Chai. The district office was moved to the west bank of the Nan River and renamed to Chum Saeng in 1915. The name ''Chum Saeng'' in Thai is the name of a herb tree that look like Chaeng trees (ต้นแจง) ('' Maerua siamensis'' (Kurz) Pax.). Another possible origin of the name may date back the reign of King Taksin, when in the area was a weapons warehouse, named ''Khlang Saeng'' (คลังแสง) in Thai. Phichit Province
Phichit ( th, พิจิตร, , ) is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces (''changwat'') lies in lower northern Thailand and 330 km due north of Bangkok. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, and Kamphaeng Phet.
