Namangan State University
Namangan State University (NamSU) was established in 1942 as a pedagogical institute. It is in Namangan province which has almost 2.8 mln population with 7900 km2 area located in eastern part on Uzbekistan, considered one of the strategically important area. Nowadays NamSU has over 20,000 students in bachelor and master degree programs. NamSU has 600 teaching staff which 46% of them have PhD and Doctoral levels degrees. NamSU offers various courses of study, including 54 bachelor educational programs, 15 masters specialization programs, 10 programs for full-time Doctorate and another 15 programs for part-time Doctorate. Namangan
Namangan (; ) is a city in eastern Uzbekistan. It is the administrative, economic, and cultural center of Namangan Region. Administratively, it is a district-level city. Namangan is located in the northern edge of the Fergana Valley, less than 30 km from the Kyrgyzstan border. The city is served by Namangan Airport. Namangan has been an important craft and trade center in the Fergana Valley since the 17th century. Many factories were built in the city during Soviet Union, Soviet times. During Eastern Front (World War II), World War II, industrial production in Namangan increased fivefold compared with that of 1926–1927. Currently, Namangan is mainly a center for light industry, especially in food. The officially registered population of the city was 475,700 in 2014. Uzbeks are the largest ethnic group. Namangan Region
Namangan Region ( uz, Namangan viloyati/Наманган вилояти, نەمەنگەن ۋىلايەتى; russian: Наманганская область, ''Namanganskaya oblast'') is one of the regions of Uzbekistan, located in the southern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern part of the country. It is on the right bank of Syr Darya River and borders with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tashkent Region, Fergana Region, and Andijan Region. It covers an area of 7,440 km2. The population is estimated to be 2,931,056 (2022), with 35% of the population living in rural areas. The great river Syrdarya, the main waterway in Central Asia, starts in the territory of Namangan. Syrdarya is formed from inflows of the rivers Naryn and Kara Darya. The Namangan region is very rich in various natural resources. A university () is an institution of higher (or tertiary) education and research which awards academic degrees in several academic disciplines.
