Namangan Region
Namangan Region ( uz, Namangan viloyati/Наманган вилояти, نەمەنگەن ۋىلايەتى; russian: Наманганская область, ''Namanganskaya oblast'') is one of the regions of Uzbekistan, located in the southern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern part of the country. It is on the right bank of Syr Darya River and borders with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tashkent Region, Fergana Region, and Andijan Region. It covers an area of 7,440 km2. The population is estimated to be 2,931,056 (2022), with 35% of the population living in rural areas. The great river Syrdarya, the main waterway in Central Asia, starts in the territory of Namangan. Syrdarya is formed from inflows of the rivers Naryn and Kara Darya. The Namangan region is very rich in various natural resources. Kosonsoy
Kosonsoy also spelled as Kasansay ( uz, Kosonsoy / Косонсой; tg, Косонсой; russian: Касансай) or simply, Kasan, (ancient Kathan) is a city in Namangan Region, Uzbekistan. It is the seat of Kosonsoy District. Kosonsoy is named after the River "Koson" which flows from high mountains of Kyrgyzstan to Turakurgan District (Namangan Region), the word "soy" in Tajik and means a "brook". Chust, Uzbekistan
Chust ( uz, Chust/Чуст; russian: Чуст) is a city in eastern Uzbekistan. It is the administrative center of Chust District. The City of Chust is located in the northern corner of the Fergana Valley along the river Chustsoy. Chust is one of the oldest cities in the Fergana Valley. The Fergana automobile road passes through the city. This road connects Chust with several other places, such as the cities of Namangan, Andijan, Kokand and Fergana. Chust underwent significant changes during the Soviet period. Many factories and institutions were built during that time. Currently, the city is an important center for cotton processing.
