Nam Sang Wai
Nam Sang Wai is a wetland area in San Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong to the north of Yuen Long. It is considered ecologically important, and serves as a stopping place for migratory birds. It is also a popular recreational destination, especially on weekends. Since the 1990s, various development proposals have been made at Nam Sang Wai by a consortium of Henderson Land and KHI Holdings Group. These plans have been challenged by environmentalists, politicians, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the World Wildlife Fund, the Conservancy Association, and the Town Planning Board. Geography Nam Sang Wai covers a roughly triangular area. Shan Pui Tsuen () is a village in Shap Pat Heung, Yuen Long District, Hong Kong. Administration Shan Pui Tsuen is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. Mangrove
A mangrove is a shrub or tree that grows in coastal saline water, saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves are taxonomically diverse, as a result of convergent evolution in several plant families. A reedbed or reed bed is a natural habitat found in floodplains, waterlogged depressions and estuaries. Reedbeds are part of a succession from young reeds colonising open water or wet ground through a gradation of increasingly dry ground. Black-faced Spoonbill
The black-faced spoonbill (''Platalea minor'') is a species of wading bird in the ibis and spoonbill family Threskiornithidae, found in eastern Asia. This species has the most restricted distribution of the six spoonbill species, and it is the only one regarded as endangered. Spoonbills are large water birds with dorso-ventrally flattened, spatulate bills. These birds use a tactile method of feeding, wading in the water and sweeping their beaks from side-to-side to detect prey. Eastern Spot-billed Duck
The eastern spot-billed duck or Chinese spot-billed duck (''Anas zonorhyncha'') is a species of dabbling duck that breeds in East and Southeast Asia. This species was formerly considered a subspecies of the Indian spot-billed duck and both were referred to as the spot-billed duck (''A. poecilorhyncha''). The name is derived from the yellow spot on the bill.
