''The Story of Nampoo'' ( th, น้ำพุ) is a 1984 Thai drama film directed by Euthana Mukdasanit. It is based on the book of the same name (known in Thai as ) by Suwanni Sukhontha. Amphol Lumpoon
Amphol Lumpoon ( th, อำพล ลำพูน; born July 20, 1963) is a Thai actor. He is also the lead singer in the Thai rock band, Micro, but then split up for his solo career. He was popular in the 1980s and 1990s. Amphol was married to singer-actress Marsha Wattanapanich. They divorced in 1997. They have one child together. Suwanni Sukhontha ( th, สุวรรณี สุคนธา) was the pen name of Suwanni Sukhonthiang ( th, สุวรรณี สุคนธ์เที่ยง; 1 March 1932 – 3 February 1984), a Thai writer and novelist. In 1971, she won the SEATO Literature Award, the award which has been succeeded by the S.E.A. Write Award after the dissolution of the SEATO. This is a list of submissions to the 57th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The Kingdom of Thailand has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1984, when it became the second independent nation in Southeast Asia to join the competition, after the Philippines. The award is given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. To date Thailand has submitted twenty-four films to AMPAS for Oscar consideration but thus far no Thai candidate has received an Oscar nomination. Four submissions were directed by Chatrichalerm Yukol, a member of the Thai nobility, and four were directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang.
