Weegee
Arthur (Usher) Fellig (June 12, 1899 – December 26, 1968), known by his pseudonym Weegee, was a photography, photographer and photojournalism, photojournalist, known for his stark black and white street photography in New York City. Weegee worked in Manhattan's Lower East Side as a press photographer during the 1930s and 1940s and developed his signature style by following the city's emergency services and documenting their activity. Much of his work depicted unflinchingly realistic scenes of urban life, crime, injury and death. Weegee published photographic books and also worked in cinema, initially making his own short films and later collaborating with film directors such as Jack Donohue (director), Jack Donohue and Stanley Kubrick. ''The Naked City'' (aka ''Naked City'') is a 1948 American film noir directed by Jules Dassin, starring Barry Fitzgerald, Howard Duff, Dorothy Hart and Don Taylor. The film, shot almost entirely on location in New York City, depicts the police investigation that follows the murder of a young model. ''Naked City'' is an American police procedural television series from Screen Gems that aired on ABC from 1958 to 1959 and from 1960 to 1963. It was inspired by the 1948 motion picture ''The Naked City'' and mimics its dramatic "semi- documentary" format. Naked City was an avant-garde music, avant-garde music group led by saxophonist and composer John Zorn. Active primarily in New York City from 1988 to 1993, Naked City was initiated by Zorn as a "composition workshop" to test the limits of composition (and improvisation) in a traditional rock music, rock band lineup. Their music incorporated elements of jazz, surf music, surf, progressive rock, classical music, classical, heavy metal music, heavy metal, grindcore, country music, country, punk rock, and other music genre, genres. The album is characterized by its covers of movie themes and its fusion of various musical genres. Jeff Golub
Jeff Golub (April 15, 1955 – January 1, 2015) was an American jazz guitarist who had a solo career and who led the band Avenue Blue. He worked as a sideman for a number of rock and pop musicians. He was arguably best known for his work with Rod Stewart 1988-95. Career Golub was born in Copley Township, Ohio, near Akron. He grew up listening to pop music, rock, blues, funk, and R&B. In the 1970s, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. 1980, he moved to New York city, and worked for rock guitarist Billy Squier. During the 1980s and '90s, he worked as a sideman for Ashford & Simpson, Tina Turner, John Waite, Dar Williams, Vanessa Williams, and Peter Wolf. 1988–95, he recorded and toured with Rod Stewart. He was a member of Dave Koz and the Kozmos, the house band of ''The Emeril Lagasse Show''. ''Unmasked'' is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on May 20, 1980. It was their first not to feature drummer Peter Criss (although largely absent from the preceding ''Dynasty'', Criss performed on that album's "Dirty Livin'"). Despite having no involvement in its production, Criss features in the album's artwork and appears in the video for " Shandi". The Skatalites
The Skatalites are a ska band from Jamaica. They played initially between 1963 and 1965, and recorded many of their best known songs in the period, including " Guns of Navarone." They also played on records by Prince Buster and backed many other Jamaican artists who recorded during that period, including Bob Marley & The Wailers, on their first single " Simmer Down." They reformed in 1983 and have played together ever since.
