Nakdong River Battle Museum
Nakdong River Victory Memorial Hall , also known as Nakdong River Battle Museum, is a small museum built inside the Apsan Park to commemorate the soldiers and civilians killed during the Korean War at a battle that raged near the Nakdong River. The grounds around the museum are scattered with vintage tanks and airplanes from the Korean War. Built in 1979 the museum has two floors with exhibits from the Korean War and other significant eras in Korea's past. Other areas within the museum pay tribute to those that died in both natural and man-made disasters in Korea's past. Apsan Park
Apsan Park is a large wilderness park located in the south of Daegu, South Korea. It covers a series of valleys and peaks of Apsan mountain. Inside the park is a museum dedicated to the Korean War, the Nakdong River Battle Museum. The museum also contains an anti-communism hall. Nearby is a small amusement park and restaurants. A gondola leads to one of the peaks, and a series of trails also lead to the various peaks. Ansil-sa and a couple of other Buddhist temples are located within the park. The area of Apsan park is 1.653 km². Nakdong River
The Nakdonggang River or Nakdonggang () is the longest river in South Korea, and passes through major cities such as Daegu and Busan. It takes its name from its role as the eastern border of the Gaya confederacy during Korea's Three Kingdoms Era. Geography The Nakdonggang flows from the Taebaek Mountains to the South Sea or Korean Strait, which separates Korea from Japan. The river originates from the junction of the Cheolamcheon and Hwangjicheon streams in Dongjeom-dong, Taebaek city, Gangwon province. From there to its mouth it winds for about . Battle Of Naktong Bulge
The First Battle of Naktong Bulge was an engagement between United Nations Command (UN) and North Korean forces early in the Korean War from August 5–19, 1950 in the vicinity of Yongsan (Yeongsan, Changnyeong county) and the Naktong River in South Korea. It was a part of the Battle of Pusan Perimeter, and was one of several large engagements fought simultaneously. The battle ended in a victory for the UN after large numbers of US reinforcements destroyed an attacking North Korean division. On August 5, the Korean People's Army (KPA), 4th Infantry Division crossed the Naktong River in the vicinity of Yongsan, attempting to cut UN supply lines to the north as well as gaining a bridgehead into the Pusan Perimeter.
