Naimee Coleman
Naimee Coleman (born 8 December 1976) is an Irish singer/songwriter from Dundrum, Dublin, Ireland. Coleman began writing music at the age of 14 and won the 2FM Song Contest in 1994 as a member of a band named the Wilde Oscars. After signing with EMI, she recorded her first solo album, ''Silver Wrists.'' The album was produced by Peter Van Hooke and recorded in Abbey Road Studios. The follow-up, ''Bring Down the Moon'', came 4 years later. On the strength of these records, she toured throughout Europe, the US and as far afield as Japan, where her singles topped airplay charts. While touring, Naimee has shared the stage with and opened up for artists such as Van Morrison, Susanne Vega, Jackson Browne, 10,000 Maniacs, Sinéad O'Connor and Sting. She has written with Howard Jones, Phill Thornally (The Cure), Pam Rose, Maiah Sharpe and Aurora. Dundrum, Dublin
Dundrum (, ''the ridge fort''), originally a town in its own right, is an outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland. The area is located in the postal districts of Dublin 14 and Dublin 16. Dundrum is home to the Dundrum Town Centre, the largest shopping centre in Ireland. 2FM Song Contest
The 2FM Song Contest, known for sponsorship reasons as The Jacobs/2FM Song Contest or 2fm/Perri Song Contest was an annual song writing competition for young people in Ireland. Created by producer/presenter Kevin Hough, it was run by national broadcaster RTÉ 2fm from 1982 to 2017. Legacy Winners included Naimee Coleman, Elaine Hearty, Laura Izibor, Sarah Packiam, RuthAnne, Dave Geraghty and 2008 Karaoke World Championships runner-up Elaine O'Halloran. Damien Dempsey was once a runner-up in the competition, and other contestants have included 21 Demands (Kodaline). The 2005 winner won €8,000 of musical equipment. Peter Van Hooke
Peter Van Hooke (born 6 April 1950) is an English rock drummer and producer with over 350 credits to his name. He was the drummer for the English band Mike + The Mechanics (from 1984 to 1995) and also drummed for Van Morrison's band, Headstone, and Ezio. During the 1980s he co-produced (along with Rod Argent) many of Tanita Tikaram's hits. Education and early life Van Hooke grew up in Stanmore, Middlesex, England and attended Mill Hill School. His schoolmate Chaz Jankel (later of the Blockheads) lived close by, and the two formed The Call of The Wild. This band became the Ric Parnell Independence, featuring the son of bandleader Jack Parnell as vocalist. Abbey Road Studios (formerly EMI Recording Studios) is a recording studio at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music Group (UMG) took control of part of it in 2013. It is ultimately owned by UMG subsidiary Virgin Records Limited (until 2013 by EMI Records Limited, nowadays known as Parlophone Records and owned by UMG's competitor Warner Music Group). "Ordinary World" is a song by English rock band Duran Duran, released as the first single from their self-titled album (1993), commonly known as ''The Wedding Album''. The ballad reached 1 on the US ''Billboard'' Mainstream Top 40, the Canadian '' RPM'' Top Singles chart, and the Italian Singles Chart. It also peaked at No. 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, No. 2 in Iceland and Sweden, and No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Cass & Slide is an electronic music British production and remix duo of Cass Cutbush and Peter Martin. Cass founded the record label Fire with Lee Burridge in 2000. Cass & Slide released several singles on Fire and its sublabel, Fire 999. These included remixes of songs from the films '' Gladiator'' and ''The Italian Job''. "Sleeping Satellite" is a song by British singer-songwriter Tasmin Archer, released in September 1992 as the first single from her debut album, '' Great Expectations'' (1992). Co-written by Archer, the song received favorable reviews from music critics and became an international hit. It peaked at number-one in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece and Israel, and reached the top 20 in 13 other countries as well as number 32 on the US '' Billboard'' Hot 100 in June 1993. There were produced two different music videos to promote the single. Saucy Monky
Saucy Monky are an indie pop band based in Los Angeles, California. The band is fronted by Dublin-born singer and guitarist Annmarie Cullen (who formerly performed under the pseudonym Ann Marie Montade) and East Coast singer Cynthia Catania. Their rhythm section is Steve Giles (bass) and Megan Jane (drums). The group was formed in 2001. Catania, explaining the origin of the band's name, said, "We were looking around for a name and I had this book by Tina Brown and I think the title was ''Life as a Party'' and there was a phrase in it that had something to do with being a saucy monkey and in reference to life in U.K.."
