Nahda Club Barelias ( ar, نادي النهضة برالياس, lit=Renaissance Club Barelias), or simply Nahda, is a football club based in Barelias, Beqaa, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was established in 1986 and competes in the Lebanese Second Division after gaining promotion from the Third Division in 2018. History Founded in 1986, the football club is based in the Bekaa area of Lebanon. It was formed in the Lebanese Second Division as the sole representative of clubs in the Bekaa before going down to the Third Division, in which they stayed during the 2004–05 season. Bar Elias (Arabic: ; also transliterated Barelias, Barr Elias or Bar Ilyas) is a town located in the Zahlé District, Bekaa Governorate, Lebanon. With around 40,000 inhabitants, mostly Sunni Muslims, it is the second largest town, after Zahlé, in the Zahlé District. Bar Elias is a village of the Bekaa Valley, the center of Bekaa. The Beqaa Valley ( ar, links=no, وادي البقاع, ', Lebanese ), also transliterated as Bekaa, Biqâ, and Becaa and known in classical antiquity as Coele-Syria, is a fertile valley in eastern Lebanon. It is Lebanon's most important farming region. Industry also flourishes in Beqaa, especially that related to agriculture. The Beqaa is located about east of Beirut. The valley is situated between Mount Lebanon to the west and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains to the east. Lebanese Second Division
The Lebanese Second Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الثانية) is the second division of Lebanese football. Established in 1933, it is controlled by the Lebanese Football Association. The 12 teams that participate in the league play each other twice, once at home and once away, with the champions and the second placed team qualifying to the Lebanese Premier League to replace the bottom two teams. History Salam Achrafieh won the inaugural edition of the Second Division, in 1933–34, after beating Ararad 2–0 in the final. The Lebanese Third Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الثالثة) is the third division of Lebanese football, and is controlled by the Lebanese Football Association. The 24 teams are divided into four groups of seven teams each; the first two teams of each group qualify to the playoffs and the first two teams of these playoffs qualify to the Lebanese Second Division and replace the relegated teams. Nasser Club Bar Elias ( ar, نادي ناصر برالياس), or simply Nasser, is a football club based in Barelias, Beqaa, Lebanon. Founded in 1970, the club competes in the . History Located in the city of Barelias, Nasser was founded in 1970. After finishing in 11th place in the 2020–21 Lebanese Second Division, Nasser were relegated to the Lebanese Third Division. Outside football The club has welcomed Palestinian and Syrian players from refugee camps in the city; around 200,000 Syrian refugees and 7,000 Palestinians live in the Barelias area. The club helps fight the garbage problem, and the pollution of the Litani River, organizing regular clean-up operations in the city.
