Nagpur district (Marathi pronunciation: Help:IPA/Marathi, [naːɡpuːɾ]) is a Districts of Maharashtra, district in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state in central India. The city of Nagpur is the district administrative centre. The district is part of Nagpur Division. Bhiwapur is a town and a tehsil in Umred subdivision of Nagpur district in Nagpur revenue Division in the Berar region in the state of Maharashtra, India. Bhiwapur city had a gram panchayat and 2015 it became a Nagar Panchayat. Nitin Jairam Gadkari (; born 27 May 1957) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra who is the current Minister for Road Transport & Highways in the Government of India. He is also the longest serving Minister for Road Transport & Highways currently running his tenure for over 8 years. Gadkari earlier served as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2009 to 2013. Literacy in India is a key for social-economic progress. The 2011 census, indicated a 2001–2011 literacy growth of 97.2%, which is slower than the growth seen during the previous decade.
