Nafisa or also spelled as Nafesa and Nafisah is an Arabic feminine given name meaning valuable, precious, extremely desired. Nafisa Ali (born 18 January 1957) is an Indian actress and politician from All India Trinamool Congress and a social activist. Early life Nafisa Ali was born in Kolkata, the daughter of Ahmed Ali, a Bengali Muslim man and Philomena Torresan, a Roman Catholic woman of Anglo-Indian heritage. Nafisa's paternal grandfather, S. Wajid Ali, was a prominent Bengali writer. Her paternal aunt (father's sister) was Zaib-un-Nissa Hamidullah, a Pakistani journalist and feminist. Nafisa is also related to the decorated Bangladeshi freedom fighter and soldier Bir Pratik Akhtar Ahmed. Nafisa's mother is now settled in Australia. Nafisah Ahmad Zen Shahab ( ar-at, نفیسه أحمد زين شهاب , Nafīsah ʾAḥmad Zayn Šahāb; ; born August 1, 1946) is an Indonesian batik trader from Palembang, South Sumatra. Nafisah is known as a mother who acts as the sole parent in her family after her husband, Alwi Idrus Shahab died in 1996. On the 20th anniversary commemoration of Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) at Mall of Indonesia on February 3, 2010, Nafisah, the mother of twelve children, ten of whom became doctors, broke the MURI record as the family with the most doctors in Indonesia. Nafisa Joseph (28 March 1978 – 29 July 2004) was an Indian model and MTV video jockey. She was the winner of Femina Miss India, Femina Miss India Universe 1997 and was a finalist in the Miss Universe 1997 pageant in Miami Beach. Nafisa Shah ( ur, ; born 20 January 1968) is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, since August 2018. Previously, she was member of the National Assembly from March 2008 to May 2018. Early life and education Shah was born on 20 January 1968 in Khairpur, Sindh to Qaim Ali Shah.
