Nadia Ahmad Samdin
Nadia Ahmad Samdin (born 1990) is a Singaporean politician and lawyer. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Cheng San–Seletar division of Ang Mo Kio GRC since 2020. Education Nadia attended CHIJ Katong Convent and Victoria Junior College before graduating from the Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Laws. Career Nadia was formerly a current affairs producer for CNA. She was subsequently an associate director at TSMP Law Corporation, in the firm's corporate transactional team. In 2020, she left the firm to join Tri Sector Associates, a social impact consultancy. Political career Nadia was fielded in the 2020 general election to contest in Ang Mo Kio GRC when Ang Hin Kee and Intan Azura Mokhtar stepped down from their respective wards and politics. David Darryl Wilson (born 1970), often known as Darryl David, is a Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Ang Mo Kio–Hougang division of Ang Mo Kio GRC since 2015. The Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north eastern region of Singapore. The constituency encompasses the majority of Ang Mo Kio (Teck Ghee, Cheng San-Seletar, portions of Yio Chu Kang), Seletar Hills, the northern half of Serangoon North, a portion of northern Hougang and a portion of Fernvale. The western portion consists of parts of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, while in the northeastern corner, it borders the Straits of Johor with two reclaimed islands, Pulau Punggol Barat and Pulau Punggol Timor. The Public Transport Council (PTC) is an independent regulatory statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of the Government of Singapore established on 14 August 1987 by the ''Public Transport Council Act of 1987''. PTC regulates the public bus and rapid transit network in areas such as fares and service standards. PTC is also authorised to issue and do amendments to bus service licences, and advises the Ministry of Transport on areas such as conditions on licensees and imposing of penalties on non-complying licensees. As announced by Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan, PTC will no longer be issuing penalties and fines despite multiple major breakdowns on the MRT system: "If you ask me, my preference is not to go back to this old system of penalties and fines because it created a very adversarial relationship between the regulator and the operator".
