The Nacionalna Liga Srbije (NLS) ''(Serbian National League)'' is the league of American football in Serbia. The current league champion is the Kragujevac Wild Boars. League history League 2004 The national league was founded 26 October 2003. First league game in Serbia was played in 2004 and 5 teams competed that year. Those teams were: Belgrade Vukovi, Kragujevac Wild Boars, Niš Steeds, Pančevo Panthers and Sirmium Legionaries. Final game was played on November, 7th, 2004. in Kragujevac on Čika Dača football field, where home team Kragujevac Wild Boars defeated Belgrade Vukovi 21-6. National Cup 2005 Instead of a league in 2005, there was a cup held in Serbia. It was the first, and for now the only official cup played in this country. Ten teams took part in this competition. American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The Central European Football League (CEFL) is a European organization of American football which hosts two international competitions, CEFL Championship and CEFL Cup. The final game of the CEFL Championship playoffs is dubbed CEFL Bowl. Until the formation of the CEFL Cup in 2017 the name of the organization was synonymous with its flagship competition – CEFL Championship, or simply "the league". Inđija
Inđija (, ; hu, India) is a town and a municipality located in the Srem District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2011, the town has total population of 26,025, while the municipality has 47,433 inhabitants. It is located in the geographical region of Syrmia. Name According to the legend, the name of the town comes from Turkish word "ikindia" – meaning evening prayer and is related to the time after 1699 when the town fell under Turkish rule. The Belgrade Blue Dragons are an American football team from Belgrade, Serbia. History Blue Dragons was founded in July 2003 in Belgrade. Together with six other clubs, they founded the Association of American Football of Serbia. We played our first game at the beginning of November 2003, just a month after the first training session, and we won our first game in December of the same year against the team from Novi Sad. However, like all teams in Serbia, the Dragons played American football without protective equipment (helmets and pads) until the 2007 season. A year before 2007, the Dragons merged with the only varsity team in Serbia, the Electricians. The Kragujevac Wild Boars are an American football team from Kragujevac, Serbia. As a team, Wild Boars arose from friendly tossing on the field. Organized play began in the winter of 2002–03 and culminated with first ever game in Serbia in spring 2003, in which they beat SBB Vukovi Beograd.
