Nachman Bulman
Nachman Bulman (1925-2002) was an American rabbi associated with Orthodox Judaism. He was born to Rabbi Meir and Etil Bulman after a blessing from the Rebbe of Ger, Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter. He grew up on the Lower East Side, Manhattan, and was, for a brief period, part of the circle of the Rebbe of Modzitz, remaining close to the Rebbe until the latter's death. He studied at Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), where obtained his ''semicha'' ("rabbinical ordination"). Turning down offers from various communities because of inadequate standards, he eventually accepted a position in Danville, Virginia, which had a small Jewish community that he served for three years. Subsequently, he served as a synagogue rabbi and Jewish educator in number of cities in the United States for most of his life. Nachman Wolf (1951 – 15 February 2022) was an Israeli Paralympic athlete who competed mainly in category F41 throw events. Biography Wolf competed at a total of five Paralympics for Israel, his first games in Stoke Mandeville/New York in 1984 were his most successful as he picked up gold in the discus and shot put and silver in the javelin and pentathlon missing out on gold to Sweden's Raymond Clark in both events. Four years later in Seoul at the 1988 Summer Paralympics Nachman finished sixth in the pentathlon won a second silver in the javelin added a silver in the shot put and defended his title in the discus. After finishing way down the field in each of the throws in 1992, Nachman returned in 1996 finishing fourth in both the shot and javelin, he won a silver in the discus. Nachman Shai ( he, נחמן שי; born Nachman Shaykevich on 28 November 1946) is an Israeli journalist and politician serving as Israel's Minister of Diaspora Affairs. He previously served as a member of the Knesset and its Deputy Speaker, as well as the IDF spokesman. Nachman HaKohen Krochmal ( he, נחמן קְרוֹכְמַל; born in Brody, Galicia, on 17 February 1785; died at Ternopil on 31 July 1840) was a Jewish Galician philosopher, theologian, and historian. Biography He began the study of the Talmud at an early age. At age fourteen he was married, according to the custom of the time, to the daughter of the wealthy merchant Habermann. Nachman Goldstein
Nachman Goldstein of Tcherin (1825 – 1894), also known as the Tcheriner Rav (rabbi of Tcherin, a town in eastern Ukraine), was a leading disciple of Nathan of Breslov (known as "Reb Noson"), who in turn was the chief disciple of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, the founder of the Breslov Hasidic dynasty. Biography A child prodigy who excelled in his Torah studies even as a young boy, Goldstein was the grandson of Rabbi Aharon, the chief rabbi of Breslov in Rebbe Nachman's day, and the son of Rabbi Zvi Aryeh, the succeeding rabbi of Breslov. Nachman Fahrner (born September 21, 1972) is a contemporary religious Jewish musician in Israel. He is a convert to Judaism. Fahrner's main influences are Elvis Presley, Django Reinhardt, 1940s and 1950s blues, R&B, and rockabilly. He received encouragement from Luther Allison and was a long-time friend of French jazz guitarist Patrick Saussois. Both his musical styles and songwriting distinguish him from other religious musicians who often combine traditional Jewish music with folk/rock elements and choose their lyrics from verses from the Torah. Nachman Dushanski ( lt, Nachmanas Dušanskis, russian: Нахман Ноахович Душанский, he, נחמן דושנסקי; December 29, 1919 in Šiauliai – February 20, 2008 in Haifa) was a Lithuanian officer of Soviet security agencies. For over thirty years, he was involved in the suppression of the Lithuanian partisans who fought against the Soviet occupation. In Russia, he was regarded as a war hero and was awarded the Medal for Courage, Order of the Patriotic War, and Order of Lenin, while many Lithuanians perceived him as a war criminal for the killing and torture of resistance fighters. Nachman Chazan
Nachman Chazan (1813–1884) was a seminal figure in the continuation and growth of Breslov Hasidism in the mid-nineteenth century. The Breslov movement was founded by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, who died in 1810. Rebbe Nachman's closest disciple, Nathan of Breslov (also known as "Reb Noson"), shaped and shepherded the movement until his own death in 1844. Reb Nachman Chazan, Reb Noson's closest disciple, then assumed leadership of the movement, guaranteeing the existence and growth of the Hasidut for another 40 years. Chazan, whose grandfather was a follower of Rebbe Nachman, was born three years after the Rebbe's death and was named after him.
