NWA New Year's Clash
The NWA New Years Clash, part of the NWA Pop-Up Event series, was a professional wrestling supercard show that took place on January 5, 2019 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Clarksville, Tennessee. This was the second event produced directly under the National Wrestling Alliance banner since Billy Corgan became the new owner of the organization in May 2017, following the NWA Anniversary Show#NWA 70th Anniversary Show, NWA 70th Anniversary Show. The event was co-produced with Tried-N-True Pro Wrestling (TNT) based in Tennessee. In the main event of the seven-match show, reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis successfully defended the championship against James Storm. Matthew Capiccioni (born December 31, 1980) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring names M-Dogg 20, Matt Cross and Son of Havoc. He currently competes on the independent circuit and Major League Wrestling. Cross has also worked for prominent promotions such as Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground, Chikara and the short-lived Wrestling Society X. In professional wrestling, a referee is an authority figure present in or near the ring during matches. The referee's purpose is similar to that of referees in combat sports such as boxing or mixed martial arts, that is, as an arbiter of the rules and the person charged with rendering decisions. Cyrus Fees (born March 15, 1982) is a television and media personality based in The United States of America (USA), who is best known for his work as a ring announcer for Ultimate Fighting Championships, Dana White's Contender Series host for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, and play-by-play commentator for Eagle Fighting Championship. Ring Announcer
A ring announcer is an in-ring (and sometimes on-camera) employee or contractor for a boxing, professional wrestling or mixed martial arts event or promotion, who introduces the competitors to the audience. In boxing and mixed martial arts bouts, introductions occur after both fighters have entered the ring or cage. Along with each fighter's name, the announcer typically also announces their height, weight, town, nickname, win–loss record and any current or past titles the fighter has won. In MMA, the fighting discipline is usually announced. In professional wrestling, wrestlers are similarly introduced, though usually before or as they come to the ring (the weight of each female wrestler is unannounced in most promotions).
