NS Matrix
The NS Matrix Deers are a Malaysian men's professional basketball club. History The Negeri Sembilan (NS) Matrix basketball team was established in 2015 and is owned by the Matrix Holding Concept Bhd. It was a frequent participant of the Agong Cup. With its roster having players from the Malaysian national team, they are a four-time Agong Cup champions. The club also has a women's team. NS Matrix is among the six teams of the inaugural season of the Major Basketball League (MBL) of Malaysia in 2022. They also joined the ASEAN Basketball League and made their debut in the 2023 season. ASEAN Basketball League
The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) is a professional men's basketball league in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong/Macau, which includes six teams from Southeast Asian nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), one team from Hong Kong, and one team from Macau. The Malaysia Pro League (MPL) was a professional basketball league founded by Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA). The league organized the Men's division, Women's division, and Development League. History In 2013, Malaysia National Basketball League ceased to operate. Eastern Sports Club (basketball)
The Eastern basketball team (), is a professional men's basketball team of the Eastern Sports Club. The team also known as and Hong Kong Eastern for sponsorship reason. The team competes in the Hong Kong A1 Division and the ASEAN Basketball League since 2016. History Eastern basketball team is a section of Eastern Sports Club (officially known as Eastern Athletic Association Football Team Limited). Jeff Alvin Dumelod Viernes (born May 18, 1989) is a Filipino basketball player for the Sarangani Marlins of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Early life Viernes was born in May 18, 1989, in the province of Isabela. He hails from the town of Delfin Albano. He was inspired to take up basketball after watching Michael Jordan figure for the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz in the Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals. 2023 ABL Season
The 2023 ABL Invitational was the eleventh season of competition of the ASEAN Basketball League. The regular season tipped off on 2 January in Singapore, before moving to 3 other host countries. The season ended with the finals played from 3rd to 15th March. The 2023 season featured eight teams from the region. Teams 2019–20 ABL season participants Formosa Dreamers, Taipei Fubon Braves, Mono Vampire, Alab Pilipinas, Macau Wolf Warriors and the Kuala Lumpur Dragons did not participate for the 2023 season.
