NSW Corrective Services
Corrective Services New South Wales (CSNSW) is a division of the Department of Justice (New South Wales), Department of Communities and Justice of the Government of New South Wales, Government of New South Wales, Australia. CSNSW is responsible for the state's prisons and a range of programs for managing offenders in the community. The state has 36 prisons, 33 run by CSNSW and three privately operated. The agency traces its origins back to 1788, when New South Wales was founded as a penal colony. The services provided include correctional centre custody of remand and sentenced inmates, parole, pre-sentence reports and advice to courts and releasing authorities, community service orders and other forms of community-based offender supervision. Offenders in custody and those supervised in the community are assessed for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of re-offending. Glen Innes Correctional Centre
The Glen Innes Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum security prison for males, is located on the Gwydir Highway, near Glen Innes, New South Wales. The centre is operated by Corrective Services NSW an agency of the Department of Attorney General and Justice of the Government of New South Wales. The centre detains sentenced felons under New South Wales and/or Commonwealth legislation and is a pre-release centre to prepare inmates for release to the community. History Established as the Mount Mitchell Afforestation Camp on 15 August 1928, the facility has also been known as Glen Innes Afforestation camp, and now the Glen Innes Correctional Centre. The Silverwater Correctional Complex, an Australian maximum and minimum security prison complex for males and females, is located in Silverwater, west of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. Oberon Correctional Centre is an Australian minimum security prison for young male offenders located in Gurnang, from Oberon, New South Wales. Kempsey, New South Wales
Kempsey is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia and is the council seat for Kempsey Shire. It is located roughly 16.5 kilometres inland from the coast of the Pacific Ocean, on the Macleay Valley Way near where the Pacific Highway and the North Coast railway line cross the Macleay River. Mannus Correctional Centre
Mannus Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum security prison for males, is located south of Tumbarumba, New South Wales. The centre is operated by Corrective Services NSW an agency of the Department of Attorney General and Justice of the Government of New South Wales. The centre detains sentenced felons under New South Wales and/or Commonwealth legislation. The centre also serves as a weekend periodic detention centre for both male and female inmates who are employed on community projects. The centre publishes an anthology of poetry, short stories, songs and photographs of art work by the centre's inmates called ''Authors and Artists of Mannus''. The anthology is currently in its sixth edition as of 2010. Macquarie Correctional Centre
Macquarie Correctional Centre, an Australian maximum security prison for males, is located in Wellington, New South Wales, Australia, west of Sydney. The facility is operated by Corrective Services NSW, an agency of the Department of Attorney General and Justice, of the Government of New South Wales. The Centre accepts sentenced felons under New South Wales and/or Commonwealth legislation. The facility is made up of 14 buildings (primarily single storey) and has three layers of fencing. Lithgow Correctional Centre
Lithgow Correctional Centre is a prison near Lithgow, Australia, operated by Corrective Services NSW, an agency of the New South Wales state government. The prison houses sentenced male inmates with a maximum security classification. Kirkconnell Correctional Centre
Kirkconnell Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum security prison for males, is located east of Bathurst, New South Wales. The Centre is located in the Sunny Corner State Forest and has a fully trained bushfire fighting team comprising both prison staff and inmates. It was declared a prison under the name "Kirkconnell Afforestation Camp" on 26 November 1958. In September 2011 it was reported that Corrective Services NSW will close the facility in December 2011, as a cost saving measure. All of inmates were relocated to the minimum security wings at Bathurst Correctional Centre and Long Bay. The facility was reopened on 30 July 2015, after a 4 million dollar upgrade.
