NK Šmartno Ob Paki
Nogometni klub Šmartno ob Paki ( en, Šmartno ob Paki Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Šmartno ob Paki or simply Šmartno, was a Slovenian football club from Šmartno ob Paki. The club was dissolved in 2005 due to financial difficulties. Shortly afterwards, a new club under the name of Šmartno 1928 was formed. However, they are legally not considered as the successors to the dissolved club and the statistics and track records of the two clubs are kept separate by the Football Association of Slovenia. History Šmartno ob Paki spent three seasons in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, in which they earned 126 points in 96 matches. They finished in the fourth place during the 2002–03 season. Nogometni klub Šmartno 1928 ( en, Šmartno 1928 Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Šmartno or simply Šmartno, is a Slovenian Association football, football club from Šmartno ob Paki which competes in the Slovenian Third League, the third highest league in Slovenia. The club emerged after the dissolution of NK Šmartno ob Paki, a team that played in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, Slovenian top division for several seasons before being dissolved. However, the new club that was founded in 2005 is legally not a successor of the dissolved club. Slovenian Third League
The Slovenian Third Football League ( sl, Tretja slovenska nogometna liga or commonly 3. SNL) is the third tier of the Football in Slovenia, Slovenian football system. Since 2019 the league consists of two regional groups (East and West). They are operated by the Intercommunal Football Associations. Format and rules Between 1992–93 and 1997–98, the Slovenian Third League was divided into two regional groups (East and West), with both group winners directly promoting to the Slovenian Second League (except in the 1994–95 season, when the top two divisions got reorganized). In the 1998–99 season, the league was expanded to four regional groups (Centre, East, North, West). Up to the 2002–03 season, all four group winners were promoted directly to the second division.
