NK Dugopolje is a professional Croatian association football, football club based in the town of Dugopolje on the outskirts of Split (city), Split, a city on the Adriatic coast. They were founded in 1952, and they currently play in the Prva nogometna liga (English: First football league), commonly Prva NL or 1. NL, is the second tier of the Croatian football league system, football league system in Croatia. History The club was founded in 1952 as NK Proleter. The 2009–10 season was a successful one for Dugopolje as they finished top of the 3. HNL South and were promoted to the Croatian Second Football League. In their first season in the second division of Croatian football, Dugopolje finished eighth out of a total of 16 teams. In the following season, Dugopolje finished first, qualifying for promotion to the Prva HNL, the first division of football in Croatia, but were denied a licence for the top division due to numerous issues and remained in the second league. Stadion Hrvatski vitezovi (English language, English: ''Croatian Knights Stadium'') is a association football, football stadium in Dugopolje, near the city of Split (city), Split in southern Croatia. The stadium has a capacity of 5,200 and is home to the Druga HNL, second-level side NK Dugopolje. The stadium was officially opened on 22 July 2009, with a friendly game between Dugopolje and HNK Hajduk Split, Hajduk Split. The stadium's construction cost was 55 million Croatian kuna, kuna and is part of a larger sports complex which includes club's administration buildings, several swimming pools and tennis courts. In June 2009 the stadium was visited by UEFA's stadium licensing inspection which gave it high marks, and approved the stadium to be used for European matches. 2011–12 Croatian Football Cup
The 2011–12 Croatian Football Cup was the twenty-first season of Croatia's football knockout competition. The defending champions were Dinamo Zagreb, having won their 11th title the previous year by defeating Varaždin in the final. The cup kicked off with the single-legged preliminary round which was played on 24 August 2011. Most of the top flight clubs entered the competition in the following round, scheduled on 21 September 2011, with the exception of Istra 1961, Karlovac, RNK Split and Zadar, as their cup coefficient (determined by their cup record over the last five seasons) was too low to skip the preliminary round. In addition, NK Lučko, Lučko and NK Lokomotiva, Lokomotiva, two of the top level clubs, failed to qualify for the competition.
