Nowa Huta
Nowa Huta (, literally "The New Steel Mill") is the easternmost district of Kraków, Poland. With more than 200,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most populous areas of the city. Until 1990, the neighbouring districts were considered expansions of the original Nowa Huta district, and were linked by the same tramway system. They are now separate districts of Kraków. Nowa Huta is one of the largest planned socialist realist settlements or districts ever built (another being Magnitogorsk in Russia) and "one of the most renowned examples of deliberate social engineering" in the entire world. Built as a utopian ideal city, its street hierarchy, layout and certain grandeur of buildings often resemble Paris or London. The high abundance of parks and green areas in Nowa Huta make it the greenest corner of Kraków. History The historic area of present-day Nowa Huta is one of the few places in Poland settled continuously since the neolithic age. Archaeological research has discovered ...

NetHack
''NetHack'' is an open source single-player roguelike video game, first released in 1987 and maintained by the NetHack DevTeam. The game is a fork of the 1982 game ''Hack'', itself inspired by the 1980 game '' Rogue''. The player takes the role as one of several pre-defined character classes to descend through multiple dungeon floors, fighting monsters and collecting treasure, to recover the "Amulet of Yendor" at the lowest floor and then escape. As an exemplar of the traditional "roguelike" game, ''NetHack'' features turn-based, grid-based hack and slash dungeon crawling gameplay, procedurally generated dungeons and treasure, and permadeath, requiring the player to restart the game anew should the player character die. The game uses simple ASCII graphics by default so as to display readily on a wide variety of computer displays, but can use curses with box-drawing characters, as well as substitute graphical tilesets on machines with graphics. While ''Rogue'', ''Hack'' and other e ...

Imidogen
Imidogen is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NH. Like other simple radicals, it is highly reactive and consequently short-lived except as a dilute gas. Its behavior depends on its spin multiplicity. Production and properties Imidogen can be generated by electrical discharge in an atmosphere of ammonia. Imidogen has a large rotational splitting and a weak spin–spin interaction, therefore it will be less likely to undergo collision-induced Zeeman transitions. Ground-state imidogen can be magnetically trapped using buffer-gas loading from a molecular beam. The ground state of imidogen is a triplet, with a singlet excited state only slightly higher in energy. The first excited state (a1Δ) has a long lifetime as its relaxation to ground state (X3Σ−) is spin-forbidden. Imidogen undergoes collision-induced intersystem crossing. Reactivity Ignoring hydrogen atoms, imidogen is isoelectronic with carbene (CH2) and oxygen (O) atoms, and it exhibits comparable ...

Nihonium
Nihonium is a synthetic chemical element with the symbol Nh and atomic number 113. It is extremely radioactive; its most stable known isotope, nihonium-286, has a half-life of about 10 seconds. In the periodic table, nihonium is a transactinide element in the p-block. It is a member of period 7 and group 13 (boron group). Nihonium was first reported to have been created in 2003 by a Russian–American collaboration at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia, and in 2004 by a team of Japanese scientists at Riken in Wakō, Japan. The confirmation of their claims in the ensuing years involved independent teams of scientists working in the United States, Germany, Sweden, and China, as well as the original claimants in Russia and Japan. In 2015, the IUPAC/IUPAP Joint Working Party recognised the element and assigned the priority of the discovery and naming rights for the element to Riken. The Riken team suggested the name ''nihonium'' in 2016, which was a ...

Nickel Hydride
Nickel hydride is either an inorganic compound of the formula NiH''x'' or any of a variety of coordination complexes. Binary nickel hydrides and related materials "The existence of definite hydrides of nickel and platinum is in doubt". This observation does not preclude the existence of nonstoichiometric hydrides. Indeed, nickel is a widely used hydrogenation catalyst. Experimental studies on nickel hydrides are rare and principally theoretical. Hydrogen hardens nickel (as it does most metals), inhibiting dislocations in the nickel atom crystal lattice from sliding past one another. Varying the amount of alloying hydrogen and the form of its presence in the nickel hydride (precipitated phase) controls qualities such as the hardness, ductility, and tensile strength of the resulting nickel hydride. Nickel hydride with increased hydrogen content can be made harder and stronger than nickel, but such nickel hydride is also less ductile than nickel. Loss of ductility occurs due to crack ...

Hose Coupling
A hose coupling is a connector on the end of a hose to connect (or ''couple'') it with another hose or with a tap or a hose appliance, such as an irrigation sprinkler. It is usually made of steel, brass, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic. Due to the great variety of the designs and the number of countries in which they were created, it is difficult to trace the origin of many. Patents that cover designs similar to those below include: * 1876: HOSE-COUPLING, No.175,232. * Coupling for hose and pipe. US 894900 A * 1915: Coupling. US 1248558 A * 1931: Coupling. US 1947593 A (claw-types) Threaded coupler types Garden hose thread See Garden hose thread. See also Hoselink and Hozelock plastic click-on connectors. GFR NF E 29-579 GFR Ground joint A "boss" ground joint coupling valve hose coupling, primarily used for compressed air or steam. It consists of a stem, wing nut and spud. It seals as a soft copper seat located in the spud is drawn against the stem by tightening the ...

Nh (digraph)
Nh is a digraph of the Latin alphabet, a combination of N and H. Together with '' ilh'' and the interpunct, it is a typical feature of Occitan, a language illustrated by medieval troubadours. It commonly represents the voiced palatal nasal which is the same sound as the Spanish letter Ñ. African languages In some African languages, such as Gogo, nh is a voiceless . In the pre-1985 orthography of Guinea for its languages, nh represented a velar , which is currently written ŋ. Asian languages In the Gwoyeu Romatzyh romanization of Mandarin Chinese, initial ''nh-'' indicates an even tone on a syllable beginning in , which is otherwise spelled ''n-.'' Japanese Early romanizations of Japanese, influenced by Portuguese orthography, sometimes used nh to represent a prepalatal. Today, this is usually written ny. Vietnamese In Vietnamese, nh represents a palatal word-initially. It was formerly considered a distinct letter, but is no longer. When this digraph occurs word-fi ...

National Agricultural Cooperative Federation
The South Korean National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (initialized as NH (in Korean, derived from NongHyup) or NACF) was established in 1961 to enhance the social and economic status of its membership and to promote a balanced development of the national economy. Its role is divided into three areas: marketing and supply, banking and insurance, and extension services. Terminology Although literally referring to local member cooperatives, the term ''nonghyup'' is used by South Koreans to describe both a local cooperative (Korean:농협) and the NACF (Korean: 농협중앙회). History * 2012 - NACF restructured into a federation with two holding companies, to increase effectiveness and competitiveness * 2011 - Ranked ninth largest cooperative by the International Cooperative Alliance * 2011 - Opened NH Residential Hall to accommodate 500 students from farming households * 2011 - Launched 50th anniversary emblem and slogan * 2008 - Ranked third largest cooperative by the ...
